The Belfast Experience The Belfast Experience is a new initiative to promote Belfast and its surrounding area through tours and published content.

Belfast Experience offers a variety of tours that have been designed by local people to show the great history of Belfast from its roots of 1500 years ago, to what it is today. We offer walking tours that give tourists the chance to integrate themselves into historical events with a hands-on and thought provoking approach, delivered by local guides.

The Shankill Road dates back over 1500 years and takes its name from the Gaelic ‘ Sean Cill ‘ meaning Old Church. Up until the start of the 19th century the area was countryside and only changed when people from all over Ireland came to Belfast to escape the effects of the Great Famine or to work in one of the many Linen Mills.

Our walking tours of the Shankill area depart from the Spectrum Centre, Shankill Road (Take the 11 a/c/c bus from Belfast City Hall – 15 min journey) daily at 10.00 am and 1.30 pm. Tour lasts 90 mins. Taxi tours depart daily from the Spectrum Centre at 9.00 am, 11.30 am and 3.00 pm. Tour lasts 3 hours. Book online at www.thebelfastexperience.co.uk
