Belfast's very own Flat Iron building is occupied by Bittles Bar.
The building was originally built for a flour merchant in 1868. It later became a bar called The Shakespeare, reflecting its theatrical clientele.
Today, it is noted for its eclectic range of artwork adorning the triangular lounge—portraits celebrating Ireland's literary and sporting heroes, including Samuel Beckett, James Joyce, W B Yeats, Oscar Wilde, George Best, Alex Higgins and Barry McGuigan, plus some of Northern Ireland's most famous politicians.

One of the oldest churches in Belfast is located just a few minutes walk from our stop on the Shankill Road, St Matthew's Church built in 1872.
There’s something particularly special about St Matthew’s. It’s something you notice if you look at the church from above – it’s in the shape of a shamrock. As such, it’s affectionately known as ‘the shamrock church.’
St Matthew’s is believed to be the only church in the UK built in this shape.

When you’re entering the church, one thing that catches your eye is a huge rock at the door.
It’s called the Bullaun Stone and is a hollowed-out boulder which was used to grind meat or metal ore in medieval times. It was found in the Shankill Graveyard and brought to the church in 1911.
The stone is also known as the 'wart stone' as it is claimed that it will cure warts.
