I studied Roman history as part of my first degree so was the volunteer tour guide for my son daughter and soon to be daughter-in-law on a five day 'busman's holiday' last week. And what a week it was from my son getting engaged to my daughter and I on a Dad and Daughter day around the Jewish Ghetto, Capitoline, and Monks crypt finishing up in the Irish Bar close to the Forum. My personal targets was the Stuart Tomb in the Vatican and the Balzini grave in the Protestant Cemetery. I got to them both and there will be a blog on the research behind that coming soon on our website www.belfastlad.com

Regardless of whatever eejit is in the Whitehouse I am involved in bringing the story of the long connection with North America and Ulster. We are now bringing coaches of cruise ship passengers to the brilliant George McGrand and Adrian Hack at Carrickfergus I also bring along private tours like this one from today's Viking Cruise Ship. I'm an Irish Ranger Veteran and I am working with the US Rangers Veteran's association to promote how on this day June 6th 1944 Ulstermen, Canadians and US Rangers landed on D Day to liberate Europe. We have just become a partner of another North American tour company for exclusive, private tours that are 5 Star rated (our minimum quality standard.) We will also be including our Black Taxi tours in this exciting partnership that I thought would begin in 2027 but it went live this afternoon! If you are an existing BelfastLad guide with a PSV licence and insurance with a Mercedes or Black Cab you don't need to do anything except let me know that you want to be on the Strength for this opportunity going forward. I will need copies of your PSV and Vehicle Licence and Insurance (you will be insured on all walking elements by our employers group policy.) These will be Belfast and beyond based tours developed and tested in association with our partner company for the past 18 months. They are scripted and as usual our existing guides get first refusal on these 6 - 8 hour tours paid at the top day tour rate.
