Recently, out and about, with the ladies of GVRT, Donegall Road. I must admit I had a ball with these girls, lovely group and keen to learn their history. A couple missing from the photo but not from their thoughts. Credit to Denise Hughes and South Belfast Alternatives for supporting these 'Ordinary Women in Extraordinary Times'.

Like everyone else NS PHT’s has been in lockdown but not melt down. Northern Spring has been taking this time to conduct research and development. In the not to distant future virtual tours will add to the ‘out and about’ political history tours. See you all soon...

A weekend with Upper Falls History & Cultural Society. A fabulous group from Suffolk to Enniskillen, on to Cavan and then to Dublin for an overnighter.

2019 is up and running! Last weekend was another successful political history tour in Dublin. Four more planned for Dublin and a few in Belfast in the coming months, with one to Paris scheduled for May. Looking forward to all of them. Happy New Year to one and all!

Not a political notable but certainly a social notable. Margorie McCall was buried in this grave. When grave robbers opened her coffin and tried to cut her finger off to get the wedding ring she awoke. The robbers bolted and Margorie made her way home. Her husband heard the knock at the door and said to their children that if he didn't know better he would swear that was their mother's knock. He opened the door and with the site of his wife in her death shawl covered in blood, he collapsed with a heart attack and died. Margorie lived for another number of years before passing away and taking her place back in the grave. Lived once buried twice!!

A big group from DCBI, Ards & Bangor, on tour with me today. Battle of the Boyne site and on into Drogheda. 48 people exploring history from multiple perspectives. A great group and I am very pleased they all enjoyed the day.
