Hi everyone
We hope you are all enjoying lovely weather this weekend.
After too much rain getting into the wood of the old summerhouse, we've had a little change at Clematis, which we hope people will enjoy just as much.
Unfortunately the supposed 'like for like' purchase of a new summerhouse didn't quite pan out (lesson learnt about online shed purchases 🙄), but what it did do is open up quite a lovely space.
We took the disaster purchase as a sign and decided on a change.
We are really pleased with the results and hope you like it too 😎🥰

Merry Christmas from us at Clematis Cottage 🎄.
We are sorry for the lack of posts this year, but we have been so busy in 2024.
Our move to Sykes brought lots of lovely new guests to stay and gave us so much more flexibility to look after our regular guests, now friends.
We hope to see some of you again in 2025, but for now, look after yourselves, have a wonderful festive season 🥳🎉, and the cosy cottage and the calmness of Fritchley will be here waiting for you when you are ready.

Hi everyone 👋🏼.

We hope you have had a lovely start to the year and, if it's anything like here today, that you are enjoying some beautiful winter sunshine 🌥️. The view from the front of the cottage gives a hint that spring is around the corner 🌱.

We thought we would give an early update on the cottage as there will be a few changes from mid summer.

A few years ago we decided to join Holiday Cottages and, whilst we have achieved moderate success with them, we have also found that it could be restrictive and last year found ourselves having to direct both friends and family through Holidays Cottages as all our owner weeks had been taken.

As we are seeing more and more returning guests to the cottage, we have decided to move to Sykes Cottages with effect from 10th July 2024 to give us more flexibility.

Ironically, although we have advertised through Holiday Cottages, we almost always use Sykes to book our holidays personally and are usually very pleased, so hopefully it will be the start of a great relationship.

It will take a little time for us to appear on their website and you will not be able to book on Holiday Cottages after July 9th, so for now I have reopened on Airbnb and VRBO for the summer months, or we can take bookings directly.

If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming new and regular guests to the cottage this year.

Hi everyone 🦌
As ever at this time of year we want to thank all our guests old and new for the fabulous support this last year.
We have been busy for most of the year and we never take our little business for granted, so we appreciate every single booking we get and we never get tired of hearing that you've had a wonderful time 🥰.
Having worked hard all year we used this as a good excuse to have an evening trip to Matlock and the Fish Pond for our 'work Christmas meal' 🧑🏻‍🎄 🎉. All in the name of research for you of course!! 😅
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎄 and we hope you all have a very Happy and Healthy 2024.

Hi everyone.
We hope you are all staying warm and dry.
A surge of late bookings has meant we have been very busy at the cottage over the Autumn months and find ourselves with only 2 weekends available until next year.
Just a reminder that we can now take bookings by Airbnb, VRBO, Trip Advisor or direct until Easter 2024. After that, we only have 6 owner weeks available from Easter to the end of October 2024 with 2 weeks already booked. Once those 6 weeks have been taken, all bookings then need to go through Holiday Cottages.

In the meantime, Kellie will do her best to eat all the hawthorn berries that have hit the ground! It makes a change from her trying to clear a field of dandelions to be fair 😳🤦🏻‍♀️.

Availability update.

We are quite busy until the end of October, just a few weeks available mid July and at the end of August.

Any bookings would need to go through Holiday Cottages as we are getting more and more returning guests and our owner weeks go very quickly at the start of the year.

If you do want any more info however, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Hi again.

Another recommendation from us is Anila Indian Restaurant which is not far at all from the cottage in Ambergate. Less than 5 minutes drive. Or a 25 minute walk if you feel energetic.

A few guests have already ordered takeaways from there and have given good reviews and we ate there last night and were so impressed.

Food is always your own personal taste, but we thought it was the best curry we have ever tasted.

Take your own alcohol. There is no corkage charge.

Better to book at weekends and they also struggle delivering on Friday and Saturday with being so busy, so for takeaways pick up if you can.

Such friendly accommodating staff.
We very much recommend it!
