This October, the Berwick Literary Festival is taking a brief detour from the town for one of its events - to somewhere truly special.

Nestled in the heart of Wooler, Ad Gefrin is an award-winning Anglo-Saxon museum and whisky distillery that celebrates Northumberland’s deep heritage, world-class craft, and warm tradition of hospitality.

📜 Step back in time to the royal court of 7th-century Northumbria.
🥃 Sample a dram from the first Northumbrian whisky distillery in over 200 years.
🖼 Wander the beautifully designed museum, rich with artefacts and storytelling.
🍰 And in October, take a seat in Bēodern Bistro for cream tea and conversation as part of the Festival.

This year, Ad Gefrin plays host to Midge Gillies, who’ll share the stories behind Atlantic Furies, her latest book about the fearless women who took to the skies when the world said they couldn’t.

The Coldstream Guards marched through Berwick upon Tweed today - the birthplace of their regiment. It was just fantastic.

With diverse street food traders, a buzzing artisan market, exciting workshops & educational food demos plus free family activities Berwick Food & Beer Festival is set to be a fantastic weekend for everyone.

🎭 Don't forget the amazing live music, tempting bars, and live comedy as well.

🎪 We've got you covered for a fun-filled weekend from 4pm on Friday 15th August. Open til late Friday then in full swing from 10am Saturday 16th August with our Artisan Market opening up full of gorgeous stalls serving up their wares like bespoke drinks, foods, thoughtful crafts, handmade goods and more!

Our opening hours will be as follows (so you can make your plans!);

Friday 15th August - 4pm til 11pm - bar marquee, street food vans, live music and live comedy

Saturday 16th - 10am our Artisan Market opens, 12pm the marquee and street food area opens. Market closes at 5pm but the marquee stays open til 11pm again!

Sunday 17th - the Artisan Market continues 10am til 5pm once more, and the marquee plus street food is 12pm til 6pm

We cannot wait to welcome you to Berwick Food and Beer Festival this year - there's going to be so much to see, do, eat and drink!
