I’m currently on my way home from a wonderful holiday, I’m always nervous of cruising,mainly as I do suffer from sea sickness, but what a fab time I’ve had. It was my first river cruise with Riviera Travel sailing for seven nights from Cologne and flying back from Basel in Switzerland. We decided on a cabin on the diamond deck although the deck below was exactly the same room. A large sliding door so we could enjoy the views along the river. We travelled through locks which was amazing. Each town we moored up at was lovely , majority included tours with a guide which were included in the holiday. Chatting to fellow sailers , no one could fault this holiday.
The staff, incredibly friendly, the furnishings spot on, and the food out of this world. A nice touch was 24/7 coffees/ teas and hot chocolate with a jar of biscuits which we took to bed and watched a selection of films to suit absolutely anyone. The entertainment was suited more to the older generation, but we made friends with all ages and had a laugh, even doing the conga round the tables. My holidays are rated on comfy beds, a lovely shower/ bathroom , fluffy towels and the food. No complaints from me. Now looking at the next cruise and will certainly be booking, fancying the Douro or the Danube .
