We have had a wonderful start to the new academic year and it has been fantastic to welcome all of our students back to school.
A special welcome goes to our new Year 7 cohort, who have settled in incredibly well. Many staff members have commented on how mature, positive and happy they have been during their first week with us. We are already so proud of the way they have embraced life at our school.
It has also been lovely to welcome back the rest of our students and hear all about their summer holidays and adventures. Our corridors and classrooms have been buzzing as everyone reconnects with friends and staff.
We have also been delighted to welcome our new Sixth Form students, alongside many new students who have joined our Sixth Form community from other schools. We look forward to supporting them throughout the next stage of their educational journey.
Students have returned to a school that looks quite different from the one they left in July, with our new sports pitches, refurbished toilets and updated classrooms all ready for the start of term. Alongside these improvements, we have introduced new timings to the school day and a new tannoy system. The traditional bells have gone and have been replaced with music, helping to create a positive atmosphere around the school.
This week has also seen the introduction of our new uniform, and it has been wonderful to see so many students wearing it with pride. Many students have commented on how comfortable it is and how much of an improvement it is on the previous uniform. Most importantly, everyone has returned looking incredibly smart and continuing to embrace and demonstrate our Bewdley Values in everything they do.
The photograph accompanying this post was taken by a member of staff of a Jay that landed in the middle of our school site during the day. We think it is a wonderful reflection of just how calm the school environment has been throughout the week, giving even our feathered visitor the confidence to stop by!
A huge thank you to all of our students for contributing to such a successful first week back. Your positivity, enthusiasm and excellent conduct have made it a fantastic start to the year.
