I’ve updated my best restaurant guide for Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The cover page shows The Royal Oak which is James May’s ( Captain Slow) pub. A place of interest but in Wiltshire. Some great additions but a few that are closing down

I had the pleasure to do a tour recently that included Richard May’s (Captain Slow) pub of Top Gear and The Grand Tour. The Royal Oak in Swallowcliffe is not that far from Salisbury and is in a small village with a chocolate box thatch roof and inglenook fireplace. Great gastro food with a good am...

From a business perspective, the though-put of diners at The Farmers Dog is outstanding. 400 covers for lunch and 500 covers for dinner with two months booked in advance
The financials show that it’s will just generate shy of £10m each year
Not bad for a first time restaurateur
Just look at blog about it

• How do you book a table at The Farmer's Dog • What motoring venues can you combine with Diddly Squat and the Farmers Dog • What Cotswolds attractions makes the perfect day out to compliment a visit here • See how you can mix and match using my guide to get the best out of your dayI've been...

Today’s death rate in the last 24 hours in the UK from CV-19 was 708 and the day before 684 and the day before that day 569. We are in self-isolation for nearly two weeks now and we see the figures on the TV screen increase day on day in those two weeks but somehow, we are removed from the action ...

I’ve been looking at all the positive posts that people have been posting and I want to contribute to that by helping people improve their mindsets in this difficult time. Self isolating can be challenging but it can also be time to self discovery. I will be blogging on my Sikkim Tour website www.sikkimtours.co.uk and my Sikkim Tour FB page so please like that page please?

3 years ago Hamza Sayedtaha could not speak English but has learnt our language. He is now a International Toastmaster and has improved his public speaking skills.

Last Thursday was a milestone in his progression by giving a speech on his shoe business in Aleppo. starting with 25 pairs of ladies special occasion shoes at the tender age of 22, he sold 10,000 in the first year in 2002. Set up a factory with 20 people at age 23, the following year selling 400,000 pairs of shoes and exporting to other countries in the Middle East. His company became one of the top ten shoe companies in Syria and diversified in women’s, childs clothing and accessories.

Year on year, he maintained a successful company until the war started and he could not sell his vast stocks.

In July 2011, he was in his office, and at 10.30am, a bomb exploded nearby and his life changed forever

He nows works in the UK, paying his taxes and contributing to our nation.

We never know what and how life will deliver for us and at the same time, we cannot judge people who are not indigenous to our shores.

I have mentored Hamza for 18 months and I have learnt so much about his culture including his wonderful food.

We can learn so much if we are open in mind and have the intention to embrace people from other countries.

Don’t let ignorance and judgement stop you learning and accepting peop
