An eruption started this morning in Reykjanes 🌋

📍 The location is not far from the town of Grindavík.

✈️ Keflavik International Airport is operating as normal.

🇮🇸 The capital city Reykjavík, and the rest of Iceland has not been impacted by this eruption.

Please follow guidance from local authorities.

At 74.5 metres, Hallgrímskirkja is the tallest building in Reykjavik, offering panoramic views of the city and beyond. The church’s striking, modern interior features an enormous pipe organ, one of the largest in the world, making it a must-see for music lovers.

The church’s unique design is inspired by the natural beauty of Iceland, resembling the basalt columns found in the country’s landscapes.
