Residents at Olivet enjoying a Hungarian Day with authentic Hungarian music and dancing. Or a visit to Birmingham for a lunchtime concert. Or the visit of a pony to the home. Or simply making some scrumptious cornflake cakes to share.

An outdoor ice-cream social was enjoyed by all at Newton Court, one recent and spectacularly sunny afternoon. At the moment, our grounds are bursting with greenery and flowers and Residents appreciated the chance to soak in the beauty of creation and have their spirits lifted by the sunshine, warmth, friendship and fellowship. The bunting was out, the ice-cream cart was set up with tubs, waffle cones, a few different flavoured tubs of ice-cream and syrup toppings. The little flamingo cocktail umbrellas added to the fun and frivolity. It was a great way to cool down and make the most of the Mediterranean heatwave, have a cheery natter and…relax!

Our residents have been busy at Kingsleigh House recently when they enjoyed creating beautiful hanging baskets, which are now displayed in our lovely garden for everyone to see.
We also celebrated a very special 100th birthday with a lovely meal shared with family, friends, and staff — a truly memorable occasion for everyone.💐🍰
Our Open Day is on Saturday May 30th at 2-4pm all welcome!

Cookie decorating followed by cookie tasting, table-top tennis and our sunflower competition was made even more enjoyable for our Newton Court Residents when the children of an activities leader enthusiastically joined in! Out in our garden we have been planting and growing and our newest garden features - a living willow dome and living willow arch are already springing into life beautifully. Trips to Langland beach hut are always popular and recently residents enjoyed a trip there with the stunning weather calling for drinks and ice-creams. There was then a cliff path walk for those willing and able whilst those who stayed behind in the beach hut sat with their knitting and admired the view.

Our residents had great fun at Kingsleigh House meeting Shannon the miniature pony who was friendly and enjoyed the fuss and attention from us all.

We also held an event for Dementia UK - 'Time for a Cuppa' and enjoyed the cakes which were generously donated. We managed to raise a significant amount for a good cause. 🍰

Enjoying time with friends at Olivet (furry friends too). Also making most of the sunshine. And if the sun goes in we have some sunflowers planted ready. ;-)

Residents at Newton Court recently enjoyed a lively afternoon of indoor fun, limbering up and getting active with games such as giant Connect Four and air hockey in the lounge. The event was kindly organised by one of our much-appreciated volunteering couples, whose ongoing support really adds to the happiness and enjoyment of residents in the home.

Quite a few residents took their turn to get into the competitive spirit of things and actively join in whilst others preferred to relax, observe the action and heckle from the sidelines. Staff members also joined in the fun, adding to the cheerful atmosphere and encouraging everyone to take part in their own way. These afternoons of shared activity not only get everyone chatting and laughing, but also strengthen the sense of family and homeliness.

A lovely week at Kingsleigh House! 🌿

Residents enjoyed a friendly game of Scrabble, shared smiles while singing their favourite hymns, and made the most of the sunshine out in the garden. Moments like these bring so much joy and warmth to our home 💛

"This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it." – Psalm 118:24
