The Morrell Bothy is your chance to press pause. A secluded retreat surrounded by beautiful Yorkshire walks, designed for complete relaxation where the mornings start with a slow cuppa in bed and the evenings end in a heated tub under the stars.

It’s a getaway made for two and a fur baby, and it’s our only accommodation with a TV for curling up with your person to watch a film after a day of exploring, or never leaving the bed in the first place 💤

Here’s the truth- Haystacks started with a gin and tonic🍸

We get asked a lot about why we built Haystacks and, in a nutshell, it’s because we couldn't find a place that felt like this and we thought other people probably couldn't either…

In lockdown, we were both working from home and had started sitting outside on sunny evenings just to get away from the Teams calls and the home schooling. A quiet corner of our own garden in Nidderdale, a drink and some peace.

It then it became a question of what if other people needed this too?

We put everything into building something that felt like that evening in the garden and the result is four beautiful huts in the Nidderdale countryside that make the Haystacks Country Retreats we know and love today 🤍

Hand-built locally with an oak table for board games and lazy mornings, a wood burner to keep things cosy and your own wood-fired outdoor bath tub tucked away for complete privacy. This one's made for making the most of the countryside so make sure to bring your muddy boots and your fur baby.

She's the second of our two Shepherd's Huts and she has a way of making people feel calm from the moment they arrive. Martha faces the sun so the morning light through the window is something else, and her private outdoor bathtub catches the afternoon perfectly.
