Alhamdulillah after five unforgettable days in Turkey, our group has safely re turned to the UK. We walked the maqamat of the Sahaba and Awliya in Istanbul, Bursa and Konya, immersed ourselves in Ottoman and pre‑Ottoman history, and stood where our past was lived and taught.

Guided by the inspiring Molana Husein Qadri and accompanied by scholars, children and elders alike, we observed, listened and felt our deen come alive. This journey reminded us that visiting historical sites is more than sightseeing — it’s a powerful way to connect with our faith, learn from our predecessors, and bring their timeless lessons into our daily lives.

Shaykh Aziz Mahmud Hüdayi was a leading Ottoman Sufi master and scholar, head of the Celvetî (Jelveti) order.

Based in Üsküdar, Istanbul, he founded a dergah and külliye and served as a respected preacher, teacher and spiritual guide to both commoners and Ottoman elites.

He wrote poetry and treatises on tasawwuf (Sufism) and left lasting waqf (charitable) institutions; his türbe in Üsküdar remains an important pilgrimage and devotional site.

We will visit this maqam next month insha'Allah
