As you know, Enjoy Travel has been working tirelessly over the last six weeks to try to secure the return of funds held by overseas suppliers, in order to refund you our valued customers.

The timing of COVID-19 could not have been worse, with over 1200 people due to travel to a number of our overseas events between April and June, all of which have now been cancelled. In addition, we already have approximately 1000 customers booked to travel on future events in the Autumn all of which now seem to be in jeopardy.

Many of you have kindly offered to transfer your funds to a future event, but with no indication of when the tourist industry is likely to begin to recover, we cannot predict how the future will evolve at this point in time.

Therefore, as a responsible tour operator, we are obliged to follow the Package Travel Regulations. You are entitled to your money back and we are aware that many of you are in desperate need of that refund.

The savage destruction meted out to the travel and entertainment industries is without parallel and Enjoy Travel is totally immersed in both. This means that the future of the company is now untenable but because we are fully licensed with the appropriate insurance bodies you will get your money back. In order to trigger this and after seeking appropriate professional advice, we must now cease trading.

What happens now?

If your holiday has been cancelled due to the coronavirus or you are due to travel in the future, you will shortly receive a letter from our proposed liquidators, with instructions of what steps you need to take in order to recover the money that you have paid to Enjoy Travel

Enjoy Travel is no ordinary holiday company. It is a family, and over the years we have been privileged to meet some incredible people, many of whom have become lifelong friends. Right now, we cannot be sure of what the future holds but, we sincerely hope to see you again when we are all the other side of this woeful situation. If we survive this health wise, then we will consider that to be a victory.

Coronavirus COVID-19 Update 20.04.20

Hello Everyone

We sincerely hope that this update finds you all safe and well.

You are already aware that the following events have been cancelled as a result of the continuing pandemic.

Costa del Dance 13.04.20 – 23.04.20
Costa del Salsa 23.04.20 – 29.04.20
Costa del Folk 25.04.20 – 01.05.20
Enniscrone 07.06.20 – 12.06.20
Ukulele Cruise 27.06.20 – 02.07.20

We are maintaining our efforts regarding obtaining refunds from suppliers and will be in touch with you personally as soon as we have any further updates.

Many of you have enquired about refunds in line with consumer law and whilst the law does state that a refund is due within 14 days following a cancelled holiday, these rules were not designed to withstand such a wholescale catastrophic event affecting the entire travel industry.

In normal circumstances these rules are entirely reasonable and work without any problems. However, they were only designed to govern the obligation of the company actually making the sale to the consumer, and not any other companies in the supply chain.

For example:
When you buy a holiday from a tour operator such as Enjoy Travel, who then purchases accommodation, ground arrangements or airline tickets on your behalf, the hotel, local operators and airline are not obliged to issue refunds within 14 days, meaning that the tour operator has to provide the refund in full and wait for the other parties to refund them.

The industry has ground to a halt, making obtaining refunds from suppliers extremely difficult as nobody has the cash flow to enable this to happen quickly. Hopefully this goes some way to explain the situation a little better

Coronavirus COVID-19
Updated 4th April 2020

In keeping with the Government directive on Monday 23rd March 2020, the offices of Enjoy Travel Ltd., remain closed. We continue with this action to protect the health and wellbeing of our staff who have now been furloughed and will remain in isolation for the foreseeable future.

We apologise for any delays in responding to emails that you may have written as the situation regarding the events which have been cancelled still remains unclear. It is not certain yet whether these can be resumed later this year or postponed until 2021 and what form of redress may be made available.

If you were due to travel to one of the events listed below, you will receive notification regarding your next step once the appropriate information is to hand. The events that are now cancelled are as previously stated:

Costa del Dance 13.04.20 – 23.04.20
Costa del Salsa 23.04.20 – 29.04.20
Costa del Folk 25.04.20 – 01.05.20

The uncertainty over our events in May and June has now been clarified. The WELCOME HOME FESTIVAL’ scheduled for Enniscrone in Co. Sligo Ireland from 7th – 12th June has now been cancelled. Arena Travel has also advised us that the Danube River Cruise scheduled for 27th – 2nd June 2020 and known as the ‘BIG BOAT ON THE DANUBE’ has also been cancelled.

As soon as there are any changes in the circumstances, we will let you know. Meanwhile, if you have any additional queries please email to [email protected] and we will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. If you are travelling with us in June, please bear with us as we deal with the immediate effect of the situation affecting our customers travelling in April.

In order to ensure we handle your queries and concerns relating to your specific holiday as efficiently as possible, we are prioritising our responses in departure date order and appreciate your patience and understanding whilst we work through this unprecedented and very difficult period.

There is now growing uncertainty regarding our annual Welcome Home Festival in Enniscrone Co. Sligo from 7th – 12th June as the hotel is currently closed. The cruise on the River Danube from 27th June may also be in jeopardy as it will be necessary for all the countries along the route to demonstrate a clean bill of health.

As soon as there are any changes in the circumstances, we will let you know.
