ADVANCING FORWARD AND CHALLENGES MET NOTIFICATION

Yesterday at Capers out we went to deliver the advanced open water part one to some of our Scoobies who embrace a challenge. In this case, three adventure challenges namely Peak Performance Bouyancy, Wreck and Underwater Navigation.

Having battled the busy rain swept motorways we all donned on our kit and sought out the clear serene waters with an enticing 16 degrees and rising.

Well done to the Scoobies who took part and here's to completing the remaining adventures shortly. Great underwater Team work too from Team Scoobie and Chief Scoobie JohnEdmund as shore cover.

Big learning curves, exciting and worthwhile day, three dives and tired Scoobies at the end of the day who looked forward to well deserved zzzzzzzzzz. Awesome job. Well done all

MORE SCOOBIES GETTING THE SEASON STARTED NOTIFICATION

Scoobie Daniel and Scoobie Emma added to a number of our other Scoobies that have been out diving recently. They set out with an agreed plan at Capers and did so with style at their start of the season diving: two scuba dives, zero dramas, and planning sharper than a dive knife. Buoyancy, navigation and buddy skills were spot on, while the roadside contour became their perfect level-training runway. Add a fish-feeding frenzy, laughter and bubbles everywhere, and it all made for a fin-tastic day.

Well done both you and what suberb video evidence of this fun day out! Photos are in the post too. 13 degrees in the water and climbing. Whooohooo. Fabulous.

ERGO GUARDIAN AT THE FORE FRONT OF TECHNOLOGY NOTIFICATION

Embracing the latest tech in BCD manufacturing is our very own Scoobie Darren. Today he took possession of the MARES - just add water Guardian Ergo trim BCD with matching colour coded accessories. The next thing to do is to head out to Capers and start learning how to use the pneumatic air hose and master bouyancy control.
Here's to our venturful Scoobies that are always up for a challenge.

Once bouyancy is mastered using this new tech you enter a whole new domain whether deep, shallow or on the surface.

Looking forward to seeing the journey progress photos Scoobie Darren.

HOW DIRTY IS YOURS? NOTIFICATION

It's that time of year where we start getting out the scuba gear that's been in hibernation over winter. After a seasons use, or, simply after a few dives, you then put your regulator in storage and then it begins.... bacteria and fungus cosy up together. You then breathe this into your lungs.

Not only that but if you've been in salt water the crystals help with potential corrosion. Grit, sand, muck and stone pebbles also harbour within.

Your life source needs to be serviced by a qualified technician each year. So, get your regulator set in now as the season approaches and avoid the April price rise.

Your know your life is worth it!!

Check out our opening times and drop off your regulator and/or any other gear you need testing for the season ahead.

YOU GET THE FUN OUT OF WHAT YOU PUT IN NOTIFICATION

Down at Capers, our keen Scoobies descended,
Where Mr Tree stood, ancient and splendid.

Emma floated with grace, buoyancy ace,
While Darren filmed every watery place.

Through rocky gardens they weaved and they wound,
Adventure and laughter in bubbles were found.

Inside Mr Tree's hollow, Emma posed bright,
As Darren captured this magical sight!

Well done to all our Scoobie divers who went diving this week. Two of which were a part of this video taken by Scoobie Darren. Well done Emma and Darren and for showing us the fun you had.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE EIGHT METRES UNDERWATER NOTIFICATION

Well, if you are one of our Scoobies and out for some fun, you go sit on a horse of course. Here, briefly, is Scoobie Emma sitting on a horse that originally was part of a Blackpool Illuminations display. Robbie Robot is just to the left looking on.

Video captured by Scoobie Darren.

How different is that on a Saturday morning!! All par for the course for our fun loving Scoobies.

GOING, GOING NEARLY GONE, BEFORE AND AFTER WHERE HAS IT GONE? NOTIFICATION

Interestingly, a photo that was captured today by Scoobie Darren was similar to a photo I took of him next to the 'white man' feature at Capers some time ago. Talk about a before and after, lol. Where has the 'white man' disintegrated too? Lol.

SCOOBIES HAVING A LORRA LORRA FUN IN A CHILLED OUT ZONE NOTIFICATION

Scoobies Darren and Emma dove as buds today,
At Capernwray's waters, they came out to play!
Epic photos and videos, Darren captured with care,
Underwater features beyond compare.

Buddy skills perfect, together they stayed,
Through every adventure their friendship displayed.
Such fun they had in the depths below,
Already planning their next watery show!

Scubaco's pride swells like bubbles that rise,
For adventures that put such joy in our eyes!

Well done to you both. Lots of videos and photos to choose from but here is one of my favourites. You will see Scoobie Emma floating like a Mermaid having her photo taken near two of the features sunken at Capers.

BOUYANCY THE BE ALL AND END ALL NOTIFICATION

Diving at depth brings it's challenges but so does diving shallow. Once you are about to conclude a dive it's important to do a safety stop at around 5 metres for 3 mins. Whether in fresh or salt water this stationary stop should be practised with the aim to master the skill.

Here we are exiting from a dive, still with neutral bouyancy at one metre (having completed said safety stop). Perfection! This is what we aim for with all our divers. Practise and eventually you will master to perfection.

Photo taken by Chief Scoobie John from landside of me (at the front), followed by DM Andy, exiting the water in our Waterproof International D10 Pro drysuits.

Great to have divers out tomorrow ready to practise their skills and have dive fun.
