Dear friends. We have some big news. (Least, for us.)
We wanted to let you know that Heathpark House will be closing its doors around the turn of the year.
We’ve thought about making the announcement for a while, but it’s not the easiest to put into words. Still, after almost five and a half years, thousands of sunrises, poured coffees, maple-syrup pancakes, muffins, lovely meetings and conversations, the four of us (dog and cat included) have decided it’s time to begin a new chapter.
It’s been quite a journey. Like many of you, we swallowed a global pandemic, cost-of-living challenges and rising energy, food and other costs, while learning how to be a Jack and Jill of all trades, from running a breakfast service to managing mountains of laundry, tiling and fixing stuff. This has never been just a business to us and we’ve poured our hearts into it. Similarly, Heathpark House has never been solely ours. It was always shared with you, particularly if you got the chance to stay.
So, thank you for being there with us. And for all the support over the years.
We’re not 100% sure of our timelines. At the moment, we’ll likely close the B&B just before Christmas and run the self-catering for a little bit longer. After that, the new owners will be taking on Heathpark House as a family home once again rather than a business.
Of course, if you wanted to book a night or two before we’re away to pastures new, do message us and we’ll let you know what we can do. It’d be lovely to see you. And we’ll be offering 20% off all stays as a parting gift.
Last thing: we want to give a BIG shout out to small business owners everywhere. Having chatted to a few while we’ve been here, we know that the passion, love and effort is real. Keep it up - you're what the world needs. And please keep supporting small businesses wherever you can, folks!
Lots of love, and speak soon x
