Our resident pooches - Puppy and Nera - enjoying the unseasonably warm weather this week.
They are very friendly - Puppy well try to convince you he's allowed in the holiday accommodation (he isn't😅) - but they will also happily hang out with you in the garden.
Nera is initially a bit timid and prefers to take her time to meet you - so you're best to ignore her and she'll accept a pet when she's ready.
Both are fine with visiting pooches.
However - if you're not keen on dogs or have a reactive dog then we keep them inside where they are happy to chill in the kitchen.
Despite his name, Puppy is actually 13, and Nera is potentially 14 (she's a rescue) so the are very content to snooze all day.

Meet the new residents Boysie & Trigger (well, the other two are called DelBoy & Rodney 😅)
Unlike the pygmies - these two LOVE attention, so guests are very welcome to head into their field for a stroke - or just to sit and chill (they often cuddle up and fall asleep next to you 😍)
These lovely boys came from - we highly recommend a visit there, too.

SNOW!!! The Cottage is available this weekend for anyone keen to hit the slopes or hills this weekend.

Glenshee Ski Centre is only 40 minutes drive from Aikenhead House.

Friday and Saturday are forecasted to be the best days of the week for clear skies and sunshine although both are expected to be cold.

We will be operating Cairnwell Chairlift on Saturday for foot passengers.

Tomorrow we will be operating Plastic Poma, D**k D**k and Rope Tow all have full cover.

is up and running, and we are currently in a period of dry weather - so why not book a few nights away in The Attic, which has a kit and drying room for guests.

Adam has been busy this week with a new addition to The Cottage.
This oak porch really sets off the gable end well and will add shelter as you're opening the door on rainy days

No electricity today due to the storms - so a day keeping warm by chainsawing & chopping up the beach tree that we had to have taken down 3 years ago.
The wood is now really well seasoned and perfect for burning.
