Most people know the Seychelles is beautiful.

What many don't realise is that the biggest decision often isn't whether to go.

It's how to experience it.

One island or two?

A standalone beach escape or combined with a safari?

A private island retreat or a resort with plenty going on?

These are the conversations I have with clients all the time because the answers can completely change the experience.

The Seychelles is often seen as a fly and flop destination, but there's so much more to it than that.

Mahé, Praslin and La Digue all offer something different.

Choosing the right island, the right hotel and the right combination can be the difference between a good holiday and an unforgettable one.

Pairing it with a safari creates one of my favourite holiday combinations. A few days spotting wildlife in Africa followed by a week in the Seychelles is hard to beat.

The Seychelles is a year-round destination and you can have a wonderful holiday at any time of year.

However, if calm seas, snorkelling, diving and beach time are high on your list, April & May and October & November are widely considered the sweet spots.

There is still availability for later this year, and travel dates through to May next year are already on sale, with some excellent offers currently available.

I'll also be sharing some of my recommended Seychelles hotels next, along with the latest offers and who I think each one is best suited to.

If the Seychelles has been on your wish list for a while, now is a great time to start planning.

And if you're already considering it, I'd love to help you decide how to experience it.

This isn't really a post about travel.

It's about connection.

When my daughter was young and I went back to work, I remember feeling like I was missing so much of the everyday.

The little conversations.

The ordinary moments that didn't seem important at the time, but somehow became the memories I wanted to hold onto.

And I think that's something many of us can relate to.

Life is busy.

We're all juggling work, family, responsibilities and the never ending list of things that need our attention.

Before we know it, weeks become months and months become years.

Looking back, that's probably one of the reasons travel has always meant so much to me.

Because holidays gave us the chance to step away from all of that.

To be present.

To reconnect.

To make memories.

Time away from the routines and distractions that so often get in the way.

And now that she's older, she's every bit the travel addict I am.

We've shared experiences together that neither of us will ever forget, and those memories are worth far more than anything money can buy.

Travel gives us so much more than a holiday.

It gives us the chance to reconnect with the people and things that matter most.

Which one on the list resonates most with you? ❤️

Behind the scenes at Secret Paths | April & May

I've definitely said yes to more than I should have over the last couple of months.

But I wouldn't change a thing.

From Italy to Kenya, hotel visits to ship visits, every trip has taught me something new.

The best part isn't the travel itself.

It's coming home knowing I can help my clients make better decisions.

Knowing which hotel is worth the extra money. Which location works best. How a trip should flow from one destination to the next. Which experiences become the highlight of a trip. And which ones aren't worth wasting valuable holiday time on.

It's also about the relationships built along the way. The hoteliers, destination specialists and local experts I can call on to help create exceptional experiences for my clients.

That's the kind of insight you only get from being there.

Now I'm back behind the laptop, coffee in hand, following up with new connections, catching up with clients and planning some incredible trips for 2026 and 2027.

And honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Luxury is one of the most overused words in travel.

There's not one definition, and luxury means different things to different people.

For some, it's a suite with a private pool.

For others, it's flying at the front of the plane.

But for me, luxury starts with something much simpler.

Time.

Time saved by not spending weeks researching.

Time spent in the right destination, not just the popular one.

Time enjoying your holiday instead of wondering if you should have booked somewhere else.

Time to switch off.

Time to be present.

And then there's service.

The service you receive at the hotel.

The service behind the scenes before you travel.

Restaurant reservations secured before they're fully booked.

The right room recommended.

The right experiences arranged.

The little details that can make the difference between a good holiday and an exceptional one.

After 26 years in the travel industry, one thing has become very clear.

Luxury isn't defined by a star rating.

It's defined by how a trip makes you feel.

Relaxed.

Looked after.

Confident you've made the right choices.

And free to enjoy every moment because everything has been thought through for you.

That's the luxury I want every client to experience when they work with me.

More time enjoying the holiday and less time worrying about the details.

The sunshine over the last few days has been lovely.

But if you’re anything like me… a few days of blue skies is sometimes all it takes to start dreaming about your next trip.

Long lunches alfresco.
Warm evenings.
Swimming before breakfast.
Actually switching off.

And then you check the forecast… 🌧️

If this little taste of summer has you dreaming of Greece, Italy, somewhere a little more exotic, or simply somewhere with blue skies and warm evenings… now’s a great time to start planning.

The best trips don’t happen by accident. It’s choosing the right destination, the right hotel, the right location and making sure you don’t miss the things that end up making the holiday.

Skip the weeks of researching.

Tell me when you want to travel, who’s going and what kind of trip you want… and I’ll help you find the right fit.

Because sunshine is lovely.
But having something to look forward to feels even better.

Dear algorithm.

Please connect me with the people who know their annual leave is too valuable to waste.

The ones with 37 browser tabs open.
The ones saving hotels they’ll never actually compare.
The ones saying “we really need to sort a holiday” but never getting round to it.

The people who don’t necessarily know where they want to go.

But know they want something extraordinary.

The ones who’d rather have one conversation and personal recommendations than spend weeks researching.

The people who want the right destination, the right hotel, the right pace and experiences that are genuinely worth their time.

The people who want somebody in their corner from the first conversation until they arrive home.

Because holidays should feel exciting.

Not like another project to manage.

Send them here.

Day 2 in Kenya and honestly… this trip is already even better than I imagined. 🐘🦩

We left Nairobi and headed down the Great North Road, the busiest road in Kenya and one of the main routes connecting countries across Africa.

Our first stop was Lake Elementaita , a private conservancy where you’re allowed to go off road and get much closer to the wildlife and landscapes.

We drove right down to the edge of the lake to see the flamingos and it was such an incredible sight seeing the water covered in pink.

Alongside the flamingos we also spotted marabou storks, pelicans and buffalo cooling off in the lake, all surrounded by the most beautiful scenery.

We then left for Lake Nakuru.

On the drive we spotted a hippo in the distance, huge numbers of baboons and black faced vervet monkeys sitting right at the roadside. It was so interesting watching the monkeys interact with each other.

And we still haven’t even reached the Masai Mara yet… 🇰🇪
