Sad news that the free 15-minute drop off area in Short Stay 2 at Newcastle Airport is ending on January 6th.

It is being replaced with a new waiting area at Callerton Parkway, next to Callerton Metro station with a shuttle bus running every 30 minutes.

Going from free and a few minutes' walk from the entrance to either having to pay or wait for a shuttle bus is a bit of a downgrade.

easyJet finally released their winter 2026 flight itinerary today which is great for everyone looking at Disneyland Paris, Lapland or even a bit sun in Egypt. Plenty of options and some good prices if you plan ahead. Or even better, get me to plan ahead for you! 😎

From January 1st, the US are introducing a $100 per person charge for foreign visitors to 11 of their national parks. This is on top of the usual entry fee and applies to anybody aged 16 and over.

The parks are: -Acadia, Bryce Canyon, Everglades, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Zion.

A hefty old increase but if you have plans to visit any/some of these parks in 2026 then there is a potential workaround if you're quick.
