✈️ Flight Cancelled or Delayed? Know Your Rights! ✈️
If your flight is cancelled or delayed, you’re not powerless — UK passenger law means you may be entitled to help and compensation! 👇
🔹 ✔️ Refund or Re-routing
If your flight is cancelled, the airline must offer you the choice of: • a full refund, or
• an alternative flight to your destination.
You can also get back the cost of unused parts of your ticket.

🔹 ✔️ Care While You Wait
For significant delays, airlines must provide assistance while you wait:
• meals & refreshments
• access to communicate (e.g., phone or internet)
• hotel accommodation and transport if you’re delayed overnight.

🔹 ✔️ Compensation
If your flight arrives at your destination more than 3 hours late and it’s the airline’s fault (not extreme weather or air traffic control issues), you may be entitled to compensation.

🔹 ❗ Exceptions
You’re not usually entitled to compensation if the cancellation or delay was due to extraordinary circumstances—like severe weather, strikes outside the airline’s control, air traffic control actions, or other events the airline couldn’t prevent.

📌 Tip: Always ask your airline for written confirmation of the reason for the delay — it can help if you claim later!
Keeping travel insurance can help cover costs if airlines don’t provide compensation directly. ✈️
