Laughter, smiles, and community spirit were in abundance as residents, families, and staff came together to enjoy a fantastic Family Fun Day at Badby Park in Daventry, Northants.

The event was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax, socialise, and create lasting memories, with a packed programme of activities ensuring there was truly something for everyone. Guests enjoyed henna tattoos, face painting, a photo booth, a tombola, and a raffle to guess the name of a teddy bear, all of which proved hugely popular throughout the day. The bouncy castle brought plenty of fun and laughter, while the mobile farm provided a wonderful opportunity for residents and visitors to meet and interact with a variety of friendly animals.

Keeping everyone refreshed throughout the day was the ever-popular Maintenance Mocktail Stall, serving a range of delicious drinks. The arrival of the ice cream van was another highlight, bringing smiles to faces as guests enjoyed a sweet treat in the sunshine.

No Family Fun Day would be complete without great food, and our fabulous chef and her dedicated team certainly delivered. The delicious BBQ was enjoyed by all and provided the perfect opportunity for residents, families, and colleagues to come together, relax, and spend quality time with one another.

The day was a wonderful celebration of the strong sense of community that makes Badby Park such a special place. Seeing residents, families, and staff making memories, sharing laughter, and enjoying each other's company was truly heartwarming.

A great effort by everyone who organised and supported the event, and to all those who attended and made it such a resounding success. We are already looking forward to the next one at Christmas time!

At Badby Park, creating meaningful experiences and bringing people together is at the heart of what we do, and this year's Family Fun Day was a perfect example of that. There really was something for everyone to enjoy. 💙

We’re proud to share that St Neots Hospital has been rated Good across all domains by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following the April 2026 inspection.

This is a huge achievement and reflects the amazing work our teams do every day to support patients with Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI) and neurological conditions.

The CQC highlighted:
- Patients feel safe and well cared for
- Great communication and support for families
- Strong teamwork and joined-up care
- A positive and supportive environment

And that’s not all - St Neots has also been re-accredited by Headway, recognising their continued commitment to high-quality neurological care.

Last week, we celebrated International Dog Day, recognising the incredible impact dogs can have on our lives. For some people, that impact can be truly life changing.

In this video, you'll meet Nova, an Assistance Dog in Training, and learn about the special bond she has developed with her service user. Nova plays an important role in supporting many aspects of daily life, providing comfort, companionship and reassurance when it's needed most.

Her presence has had a profound impact on mental wellbeing, helping to foster confidence, independence and resilience. Their journey together highlights the powerful role therapeutic animal support can play in enhancing quality of life and supporting recovery.

Summer at Elysium is all about wellbeing, connection and creating a sense of belonging.

Across our services, colleagues and the people we support have been making the most of the season through a variety of activities designed to bring people together, boost wellbeing and celebrate the incredible work happening every day.

At Cefn Carnau, the start of Wimbledon was marked with a traditional treat of strawberries, cream and freshly baked scones. It was a simple opportunity to pause, connect with others and remind us that wellbeing often starts with slowing down and savouring something sweet with others.

At The Woodmill, teams came together for a BBQ picnic lunch, as well as along with offering fresh fruit platters and ice pops helping everyone stay refreshed during the warmer weather. These opportunities to connect outside of day-to-day routines can make a real difference to wellbeing and team spirit.

Castleholme Lodge brought plenty of smiles with an ice cream trolley, alongside a milkshake and mocktail trolley that travelled around the site, ensuring everyone could enjoy a cool treat and a moment of appreciation.

To celebrate Afternoon Tea Week during August, several sites organised afternoon tea boxes for their staff or hosted afternoon tea gatherings in their cafes with scones with jam, cream and strawberries. These small but meaningful gestures recognised the dedication of our teams and reinforced our commitment to creating supportive and inclusive workplaces where everyone feels valued.

While these moments may seem simple, they play an important role in fostering positive workplace cultures where people feel connected, recognised and supported to thrive. By prioritising wellbeing and inclusion, we're helping to create environments where both colleagues and the people we support can flourish.

We're delighted to share that Kingswood House, Rotherham has been rated GOOD by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The assessment found that Kingswood House is delivering care in line with the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, ensuring autistic people and people with a learning disability are supported with dignity, choice, independence and respect.

Some of the key highlights include:

Great day at The Spinney for our Carers Summer Party!

This year's theme was "Unity in Diversity", a Bhangra group taught everyone moves (carers, patients and staff all got involved), street food from around the world was served, and flags were put up on the walls representing every nationality among our carers. DJ and karaoke too, and the patients did not hold back.

There was also support on hand for anyone who needed it, our Psychology and OT teams, an Independent Mental Health Advocate, and a Welfare Rights Officer talking through benefits and financial support (turned out a few of our own staff found that useful too).

Beverley Beckett, our Lead Social Worker and Carer Engagement Lead, told us: "This event reflected the focus of Carers Week 2026: Building Carer Friendly Communities. The theme underscores the need for practical and inclusive support. Whilst we are not a community-based setting, we are committed to embracing this approach within The Spinney by offering meaningful support and inclusion. The event was a resounding success with all those present having a great time. We are so looking forward to hosting our next Carers event!"

We're proud to celebrate Sarah Waller, Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist at Elysium Healthcare's Jacobs Neurological Centre, whose case study has been published in Mölnlycke's Unlocking Best Practices: Real-World Cases.
Sarah's case study followed the care of a patient with a long-standing pressure wound that had previously been considered unlikely to heal.

Sarah said:
"This achievement belongs to the entire team. Everyone worked together providing great communication and care. Over time, she improved significantly and was able to get back outside and see the Easter flowers, it’s the greatest reward for all that hard work."

Congratulations, Sarah, on this well-deserved recognition and for showcasing the exceptional work taking place at Jacobs Neurological Centre.

We're proud to have been recognised by Middlesbrough College for our support of Health and Social Care students through work placements at our service, The Bridge, Middlesbrough.

By welcoming students each year, we're helping to provide valuable insight into careers across health and social care. Through placements of up to 200 hours, students have the opportunity to learn from our Multidisciplinary Teams (MDTs), gaining first-hand experience of person-centred care and the different roles that contribute to delivering high-quality support.

Students quickly become a valued part of the service, building relationships with residents and contributing to their wellbeing through everyday interactions and companionship. These meaningful connections benefit everyone involved and help bring learning to life.

Many students go on to pursue careers as Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, Paramedics and other health and social care professionals, while others discover new opportunities and interests along the way.

We're delighted to play a role in supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals and would like to thank Middlesbrough College for recognising our commitment to student development and learning!

We're delighted to share that Arbury Court has achieved a 'Good' rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following its latest inspection.

This positive result reflects the collective efforts of colleagues across the service and their ongoing focus on delivering safe, effective and person-centred care.

Sandy Gerrard, Hospital Director, said: "A fantastic achievement for the whole team. Our CQC Good rating recognises the passion, professionalism and commitment shown every day, making a positive difference in the lives of those we support."

A service user at The Farndon Unit has successfully moved on from inpatient care, after 15 years in mental health hospitals.

Before leaving the service, they shared a heartfelt letter with Hospital Director Ali Curtis, expressing their gratitude for the support they received throughout their recovery journey.

It's a touching reminder of the difference compassionate care can make and a milestone to celebrate!
