Over the past few months, we’ve been working on exciting refurbishments at seven of our hotels to make your stay even more comfortable.

We’ve already completed the following:

Abbey Lawn Hotel, Torquay - we’ve fully refurbished all guest bedrooms on the 3rd floor and completed the installation of a new lift

Russell Hotel, Weymouth – 31 guests rooms have been fully refurbished along with new flooring and decoration for the dining room

Daish’s Hotel, Isle of Wight - 8 guest bedrooms have been decorated, and a new roof over the conservatory dining room area

Sandringham Hotel, Weston-Super-Mare – a refreshed dining room and entertainment room, including installation of a new dance floor for evening entertainment. Creation of a new coffee shop

Hotel Prince Regent, Weymouth – we’ve revamped the dining rooms and reception area, installed new carpet into the sea front lounge and introduced new soft furnishings and carpet into the coffee shop/bar area

Imperial Hotel, Eastbourne – significant roofing works, new and upgraded fire alarm system, and decoration for a number of guest bedrooms

Work currently underway:

The Esplanade Hotel, Scarborough – a full refurbishment of all 18 bedrooms on the 3rd floor

Hotel Prince Regent, Weymouth – a full refurbishment to 12 bedrooms, including 10 sea view rooms

We’re not stopping there and are already busy planning even more improvements for the 2025/2026 season. We will have some very exciting updates coming - especially at The Sandringham.

Today we’re celebrating all our solo travellers, those that enjoy relaxing and exploring all that Daish’s has to offer on their own.

85-year-old Daish’s customer Grace had been on her own for around eight years when she decided to take the ‘bull by the horns’ and book a holiday for herself.

She has now been going on solo trips with Daish’s for two years, undertaking 24 holidays in the last year alone, and has made plenty of new friends along the way!

We’re pleased to advise that the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government has upheld the appeal of the Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole Accommodation Levy.

This means that the proposed accommodation tax will not be introduced in Bournemouth and therefore won’t affect our guests staying at the Bournemouth Sands Hotel.

As we have said from the beginning, we believe hotels have a role to play in further supporting the local community and we understand the financial pressures on local government, but we do not believe that the proposed levy was the correct way to address the problem.

We look forward to welcoming guests to the Bournemouth Sands.
