This week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the Chelsea Pensioners to our Daish’s Hotel.

It was an honour to host such a remarkable group, whose service, dedication, and history are admired by so many. Our guests and team alike enjoyed meeting them.

UPDATE - WEDNESDAY 26 MAY
Yesterday afternoon Public Health directors in the eight areas affected issued the following statement:

“Following the national coverage of recently revised guidance we have met with national officials and confirmed that there are no restrictions in or out of each of our areas: there are no local lockdowns.”

In light of this update, we can confirm that holidays and pick-ups from the council areas noted below will resume as planned.

We must follow and respond to government guidance issued to keep guests safe and therefore we responded to changing restrictions as required. We apologise for the inconvenience and confusion this caused as well as for the change of plans for those whose holidays in the last 24 hours have been affected.

Further to today’s news that announced localised COVID-19 restrictions including travel restrictions, it is with regret that we have made the decision to pause pick-ups from the following areas:

• Bedford Borough Council
• Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council
• Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council
• Burnley Borough Council
• Kirklees Council
• Leicester City Council
• London Borough of Hounslow
• North Tyneside Council

Guests who are due to be visiting us on a self-drive package will also be contacted in light of the new travel advisory.

We’ll be contacting customers affected in the coming days with holidays due to go before Friday 4th June and will be doing so in date order. We would kindly ask that you bear with us while we work through these bookings.

Our teams will continue to carefully monitor and review Government guidance and will provide further updates for guests in these affected areas as soon as we can.

Thank you for your continued support and patience during these challenging times. We want to provide as much clarity and reassurance as possible to guests who have upcoming stays booked with us.

Following the Government update yesterday, we are pleased to confirm that our hotels will re-open and holidays will resume from Monday 17th May 2021.
We will be contacting all guests with holidays booked from 1st March to 16th May in date order and we kindly ask that you bear with us while we work through these bookings.

We look forward to re-opening and welcoming you back on board our Daish’s coaches from May 17th.

Following the most recent government announcement made on Saturday 19th December, and after careful consideration, we have made the difficult and heart-breaking decision to close all of our hotels over the Christmas and New Year period.

We know after what has been an incredibly difficult year, many of our customers were greatly looking forward to a festive break, and this is a decision that has not been taken lightly. It is also extremely disappointing for us at Daish’s, given all the hard work that our teams have put into making our holidays and coach travel COVID-Secure. We were also looking forward to spreading some much-needed festive cheer at the end of a very challenging year.

While we had hoped to remain open for those guests who were still able to travel from Tier 1 or 2 areas, following the announcement made by the Prime Minister on Saturday asking everyone to ‘remain local’, we feel as a responsible operator that the right decision is to close our hotels to ensure the safety of all our loyal guests and staff.

We will be contacting customers in departure date order and kindly thank you in advance for your patience while we work through all our bookings.

We’ll be working hard over the coming weeks and months as we look forward to welcoming guests back as soon as we are able. We are especially excited to welcome our first guests into our newest hotels – Imperial Hotel, Eastbourne and Abbey Lawn Hotel, Torquay.

We hope to hear more good news in the coming weeks with additional vaccines hopefully being approved for use in the UK, alongside the existing vaccine rollout, and look forward to what we hope will be a more positive year for all of us.

IMPORTANT CUSTOMER ANNOUNCEMENT – SUNDAY 1ST NOVEMBER

Following the announcement by the Prime Minister on Saturday 31st October, sadly we can confirm that holidays that were due to be departing between Monday 2nd November and Wednesday 2nd December will not be going ahead.

We will be contacting affected customers in departure date order and we would kindly ask that you bear with us while we work through the bookings.
