This former Gamekeepers cottage lies within the Wark forest bordering the Northumberland National Park.It is 10 miles from Gilsland,a small village located between Carlisle and Newcastle-upon-Tyne.The Wark forest offers an ideal opportunity for mountain biking,walking,bird watching or even just relaxing.The cottage is set in the Dark Sky Park and so is ideal for stargazing. The Bothy comprises 2 b

edrooms,1 double bedroom and 1 bedroom with bunk beds plus travel cot. Bathroom with shower
On the ground floor there is a kitchen/dining room,living room and utility room. Equipped with dishwasher,microwave,tumble dryer and washing machine.Bed linen and towels included. No smoking,2 well behaved pets welcomed.

Thanks to the prompt response of several fire brigades a wildfire close to us and our neighbours was brought under control. Fortunately the wind direction also worked in our favour. It is so important that people are aware during this dry spell to be extra cautious as the ground is tinder dry.

We welcomed our first Greyface Dartmoor lamb into our Churnsike flock this morning. Our new mother is doing such a great job of cleaning up Churnsike Catherine named after my lovely mother in law.
