This has been sent to me via an email, from our lovely guests who stayed a couple of weeks ago in the Cottage....
The cottage at Pickwell Barton is located in a superbly peaceful spot, both in terms of its immediate surroundings and the wider landscape. The lovely garden is a relaxing space to spend time in and allows views of the nesting swallows zooming in an out of the impressive stone built barns opposite. The walks available to guests around the farm enable easy access to some simply breath taking views over the coast, including Baggy Point and some stunning sunsets. Lovers of wildlife will also be impressed by the regular presence of a Barn Owl roosting nearby.
The cottage interior deserves special mention as it is both tastefully appointed and extremely well finished. Cleanliness is important to us and so it was a real pleasure to find that it was spotlessly clean, well thought out and the welcome basket was a wonderful treat! Everything had been provided to ensure our stay was as comfortable and trouble free as possible.
A relaxing walk into the nearby village of Georgeham was rewarded by access to not just one but a choice of two very welcoming pubs serving good food. Additionally, there is a village shop selling daily essentials, as well as some very nice but naughty cakes. Access to the Southwest coast path is very easy and consequently Pickwell Barton made for a wonderful stay without having to drive everywhere.
The warm welcome and kindness shown to us from Jane and Andrew was very much appreciated and their additional efforts in helping us during our car crisis were both considerate and memorable. Over a period of several years we have stayed at many Farm Stays, this was for us, by far, simply the best and so we would recommend it to anyone.
Thank you Jane and Andrew.
