Big stretch, deep breath. Hello! is 2 years old today!!! But…….
Most will know that we put every ounce of energy we had into our tiny Café. However, stimulated by a 3 month hiatus in post operative recovery & realising we got our lives kind of back we have, sadly, all things considered, decided to sell .
We’re proposing either shop premises only or premises c/w all the cafe kit, so you can, literally, just start if you wanted the place as it is. In 2022-2023 The Soo’s Lug till turnover was > £85k pa, selling >15000 coffees & 1000s of award winning bacon rolls too. For being open 18 hrs / week it took us, & others, by surprise.
So, there is a huge opportunity for someone(s) with, maybe, earthy passions, self-belief, perhaps a story to tell & the potential to stand on the shoulders of giants. Someone to add to the social & commercial fabric of our community, & earn a small living, maybe you?
We like to imagine that The Soo’s Lug got a name for itself as a funky wee place, full of eclecticnessfulness with it’s beautiful, reclaimed, Danish Beech wooden floor, big red church pew, make-do-with-what-we-got shelves & set in a deeply, non-commercialised, humorous, quirky atmosphere. It’s repeatable.
A friendly place to, literally, 1000’s of people, cyclists, bikers, dog walkers & hungover Joes amongst many others, some travelling from all over the UK just to eat there.
“You kind of became embedded within a phenomenal, tactile space when you dined there” I’m advised.
We’re so sad to leave it, but, it’s the right decision for Team Soo’s Lug I’m afraid. There’s not really much else I can say. There is nothing more we could have wished for in this well loved, little place. Go for it.

Post Note:
We had genuine pride, selling our & multi award winning, trademarked, World class, from this place. And, yeah, we actually did invent them, with another 4 gold stars this year 2023 bringing us to 28 . Piggery-Smokery will return, not sure when or how as yet.
For that we thank all our supportive customers & suppliers.
Also, to friends & our team, who supported us, provided energy & gave us, thoughts, stupid & glorious ideas & genuine warmth we too say thanks.
