Self-catered accommodation in rural West Dorset 5 beautifully renovated cottages situated one mile from the jurassic coast and set in the Dorset countryside.

All of our cottages have an individual feel, from Barn Cottage, a tradition herdsman's house to Courtyard, Cobbles, Stile and Hopscotch converted from a former barn. Individual gardens complete the picture, plus a communal play area, and acres of farm land to explore. The amazing coastline is rich pickings for fossil hunters, and there are some great places to eat without leaving Burton Bradstock. See you here soon!

Head over to The Official Test Centre (OTC) at Portland Harbour, based right on the water’s edge at the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love being out on the water, you can try windsurfing, kitesurfing and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), with tuition and equipment available for a range of abilities. Portland Harbour’s sheltered waters make it a fantastic location to learn something new – or brush up on your skills! 🌊☀️

🎩✨ Bridport Hat Festival – Saturday 5th September 2026 ✨🎩

If you’re looking for something fun and a little different this weekend, head into Bridport for the 2026 Bridport Hat Festival!

The day gets underway at 10.00am in Bucky Doo Square with a welcome from the Town Crier and Mayor, followed by a full programme of live entertainment, competitions, activities and stalls throughout the day.

Expect plenty of colourful hats, music, laughter and a wonderfully lively atmosphere around the town. And of course, don’t forget to wear your own favourite hat! 🎶👒🎩

🌾🐄 Dorset County Show is back this weekend! 🚜🐑

One of Dorset’s biggest countryside events returns on Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September 2026, near Dorchester.

It’s a brilliant day out for all ages, celebrating the very best of Dorset agriculture, farming and rural life, with livestock, heavy horses, showjumping, food and drink, countryside displays, horticulture, shopping and plenty of entertainment.

⭐ This year’s highlights include Monster Trucks, the OG Stunt Horse Team, Scurry Racing and The Wurzels performing on Saturday!

🌾🐑 Melplash Show 2026 – A Great Day Out in West Dorset! 🚜🐄

There really is something for everyone, with livestock and horse competitions, horticulture and homecrafts, agricultural machinery, local food and produce, rural displays and more than 400 trade stands**. 🎟️ Children aged 16 and under go FREE, with advance adult tickets available before Show Day.
