Flash back to my first experience on a cruise and it didn’t disappoint. 🚢🚢

We did the Irresistible Med cruise which took us to Toulon, La Spezia , Corsica, an overnight stay in Ibiza & back to Barcelona.

I took advantage of one of the days at port while the boat was quiet to do a little walk around.

The décor on the ship is to a very high standard as are most things with Virgin.

Now, the top deck is where it all happens & is the place to hang out if you’re up for a party …but fear not, the layout of the ship is so well thought out. There are so many areas that you can just chill, work out or find some nice Balearic vibes, a day bed & a cocktail on the aft deck at The Wake …a personal fave of mine. 🎶🍹🌅

Food on the ship was the highlight for me (if you’re a foodie you'll understand) every restaurant is à la carte, all food included and I can honestly say we did not have one bad meal, everything was exceptional.

Drinks onboard are a reasonable price, we couldn't even spend the amount we had on a bar tab .. you can "shake for champagne" and they'll serve you champagne wherever you are onboard... entertainment doesn't stop, always something going on... casino, nightclub, shows, bingo, live singers!! The list is endless!!

Oh and another big plus. All cruises are ADULTS ONLY.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting the Independence of the Seas. ⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️

It was my first time stepping onto a Freedom Class ship, and it was absolutely charming and full of character from the moment I boarded.

Independence is one of the more seasoned ships in the Royal Caribbean family, and when you compare her to her newer, glitzier sisters like Icon and Wonder of the Seas, she offers a unique kind of magic. She’s rooted in tradition and personality, which makes her so special.

Her interior style is distinct, with warm touches and a strong sense of character that really sets her apart. One of the early ships to introduce the iconic Royal Promenade is a must-see!

From bow to stern, Independence is filled with comfort and a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for a lively spot or a peaceful retreat, there’s a space onboard to suit every mood. Families will love the splash pad and family pool areas, while adults seeking a bit of peace and quiet will feel right at home in the serene Solarium, complete with its own bar and pool.

Of course, Royal Caribbean favourites are all here too, from the cosy Schooner Bar to the elegant Vintages wine lounge, perfect for a quiet evening drink. I had the pleasure of enjoying a meal in the main dining room, and the setting was just as memorable as the food, with one of the most impressive chandeliers I’ve seen at sea.

We also had a sneak peek at Grease the Musical, the full West End-style production that’s included with your cruise. It’s easy to forget just how much value that adds, especially when you think about the cost of a night out in London, with dinner and a show!

Independence has activities in abundance, everything from rock climbing and the FlowRider surf simulator to waterslides and more. Whether you’re a thrill-seeker or just want to soak up the sun, Independence has something for everyone.

Amongst the hotels we viewed on our trip this has to the most impressive.

This hotel build has been 9 years in the making to be completed this year (bookings available from Oct). The finishes are to a super high standard. I was so impressed after the tour, I have booked myself!! 😊

The building has been constructed as its name sake..so that the stunning “horizon” is visible the minute you walk into the hotel lobby and from almost every spot in the hotel. There are 3 huge pool’s. One of which, the lagoon pool, will be layered with sand which is shortly going to be filled 😲
An adults only pool/bar/room area.
Kids’ club, playground & animation team.
There are courtesy rooms for those customers with a late flight home.

3 à la carte eateries. A large buffet restaurant, French bistro (with a huge wine cellar) Asian & Japanese (Tepenyaki will cost extra).

6 bars. New furniture is arriving all the time and the TV’s for the sports bar arrive in a couple of weeks!

Prices for this hotel are currently very reasonable however I envisage prices will increase once open so BOOK NOW to get the best deal.

⭐️ HOTEL MORABEZA ⭐️

Hotel Morabeza was the first hotel built on the Island! Think refined elegance & old school glamour. The hotel makes all its own furniture and everything is bespoke.

It offers a variety of accommodation, 88 rooms and 33 suites, with terraces or balconies, overlooking the sea or the gardens. Currently only available for adults on B&B, half board or full board basis.

Set along one of the finest spots on the beach front of Sal Island & rooms sell out extremely fast.

In October 2024 it opened a brand new beach club and this section of beach with its powder white sand and uninterrupted views is one of the best on the island.

We also had dinner here, the food and setting were just fabulous. 🍝🍷
