Georgia doesn't do anything by halves.

We've just come back from running it again, and it never stops surprising us — mountain trails through Svaneti that dip in and out of medieval villages, monasteries perched on ridgelines against a backdrop of peaks soaring above 5,000m, and empty trails through some of the most dramatic scenery in Europe.

Between the glaciers and waterfalls, evenings are spent in cosy local guesthouses, full of Georgian w**e, hospitality, and the kind of food that makes you forget you're supposed to be resting your legs for tomorrow.

It's one of the most extraordinary, genuinely un-explored corners of the continent — and one of our favourite trips to run.

Seven days. Six guests. One boat, and a bearing that carried us to the remote, otherworldly islands of Lofoten, Norway 🇳🇴

We've just got back from this year's Lofoten Trail & Sail, and it might be one of the most unusual — and most beautiful — trips we run. Our home for the week was Moondance, a sailing vessel that became basecamp, transport and dining room all in one, dropping anchor in a different bay every single night.

Each day took us somewhere new — somewhere barely explored, often with no one else around for miles. We'd run trails that only exist because a boat was willing to take us there, then come back aboard for good food, good company, and the kind of conversations that only happen when six strangers become a crew over the course of a week.

There's something about running somewhere you can only reach by boat that changes the whole shape of a trip. No roads in, no roads out — just wherever Moondance decides to drop anchor next. It's a genuinely heart-warming way to spend a week, sharing moments and making memories in a landscape that still feels almost entirely untouched.

Six years ago, we ran the Lake District crossing for the very first time. It's stayed in the calendar every single year since — and if you ask our guides, it's one of the trips they look forward to most.

There's something about running England's finest National Park properly — south to north, point to point, mountain passes and hidden valleys and the glittering shores of Derwentwater — that never gets old, no matter how many times we do it. Maybe it's because every group is different. Maybe it's because the fells genuinely don't need anywhere else to compete with them.

Five days in the Tramuntana. These people showed up as strangers.

Rocky ridge lines. Ancient stone villages. Trails carved into the side of the mountain above the Mediterranean.

And the kind of group energy that you can’t manufacture - it just happens, out there, when everything else falls away.
