Radek's Chocolate began early 2008 in Bristol, the same town where the first ever chocolate bar was made! Radek’s passion for chocolate was born a couple of years before when he discovered cacao beans. At the time he was cooking at award winning vegetarian restaurant Cafe Maitreya. Here he was exploring fine cuisine, which now translates in his sophisticated creations. Our chocolate is made from c

acao bean paste to bar. We begin by hand-chiselling the cacao paste & cacao butter blocks. The blend is then slowly refined under a granite stone wheel for over 24 hours while we slowly incorporate the other ingredients. The finished chocolate is poured into bar shaped moulds, cooled, set, and then wrapped. It has always been greatly important that all the ingredients used are fair trade, organic wherever possible, and carefully chosen from only reliable suppliers. Radek, with his passion for travel, loves to source the best ingredients direct from the producers, for example the finest chestnut flour from the hills in Dordogne which is freshly milled to order. With this in mind, we feel it’s important to communicate our dedication towards the cause. So, Radek’s Chocolate is now officially organic and certified by OF&G. We are proud to participate in a global movement towards a happier planet. From beginning to end, each product is treated with utmost love and care, creating unique artisan, handmade chocolate treasures, that will indulge your senses and benefit your body!

Our latest bean to bar is a brand new offering from Ecuador. Jaime Alarcon - the great-grandson of a cacao farmer called Carlos Alberto Puig - is continuing a special legacy with this cacao dubbed “Cacao Papa Carlos”. Fermenting these beans for 15 days and working in unison with the full moon, this cacao develops incredibly rich vinegar flavour profiles usually not associated with this type of hybrid cacao. This 72% dark chocolate bar perfectly captures the bean’s pure and distinctive essence.

But if you haven’t, then here it is: Introducing our new Brazil Nut Praline Bar made in collaboration with Hodmedod's! 🦔🌱

We’re so thrilled to be collaborating with who have sourced the finest Brazil Nuts through a direct trade relationship with the Kayapó-led cooperative COOBA-Y. This trade relationship is the first time that these Brazil Nuts have been available here in the UK! 

The Kayapó people have lived in harmony with the Amazon rainforest for generations, and their sustainable harvesting practice provides fair, direct income for over 600 Kayapó families (you can learn all about this in the latest blog post on our website too!)

We’ve used only the finest vegan and organic ingredients to complement this treasured heritage and to bring this praline to life! It’s a soft, creamy, and perfectly sweetened praline that’s silky smooth and encased in delicious extra dark 80% chocolate.

It’s available to pre-order on our website now! We’ll begin sending them out from 27th May. The link to pre-order is in the bio!

Our Story

Radek’s chocolate began in 2008 in Bristol, the same town where the first ever chocolate bar was made! Radek’s Passion for chocolate was born a couple of years before when he discovered unroasted raw cacao beans. At the time he was cooking at award winning vegetarian restaurant Café Maitreya. Here he was exploring fine cuisine, which now translates in his sophisticated creations.

However the real story begins in Radek’s own kitchen at home…

Through much experimenting, countless tastings and sleepless nights, he found his original recipe. This took him on a culinary journey discovering exotic textures and flavours, which have now become the infamous Radek’s Chocolates. Like an Alchemist with his potions Radek’s passion for Cacao has become a fine art.

It has always been greatly important that all the ingredients used are fair trade, organic wherever possible, and carefully chosen from only reliable suppliers. Radek, with his passion for travel, loves to source the best ingredients direct from the producers, for example the finest chestnut flour from the hills in Dordogne which is freshly milled to order.
