e flight. Ballooning is an adventure, a magic carpet ride, something not to be rushed. The flight will last for about one hour, the whole outing usually takes between 3 and 4 hours. We fly in the late afternoon or evening and soon after dawn to take advantage of the stable air and light winds found at these times of the day. We do not fly if it is raining or very windy. The main flying season is March to October, however, "Exclusive" flights are available throughout the year. For further information see the website or call us.Ballooning, like serendipity, is the art of making happy and unexpected discoveries by chance. Where we go is entirely dependent upon the wind. The average distance we travel is ten miles, affording you stunning views of the surrounding scenery. Age is no barrier to enjoying this spectacular journey, our passengers ages range from nine to ninety! We provide a friendly and personal service. Passengers may like to help lay out and launch the balloon or simply leave this to our ground crew. For your safety and comfort we suggest you wear outdoor clothing suitable for the time of year. A balloon basket is a brilliant platform for photography, bring a camera or camcorder, plenty of memory and a spare battery! Chilled Champagne or orange juice is served with our compliments. Each passenger receives a commemorative flight certificate signed by the pilot. Our experienced retrieve crew, who are in radio contact with the balloon, meet us on landing and will return you to the launch site.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR PASSENGERS
After many years taking passengers on unforgettable balloon flights, I, along with other senior operational staff at Ballooning Network Ltd (also trading as Bath Balloons and Bristol Balloons) have made the decision to retire ahead of the 2022 flying season.
To ensure that you still enjoy the flight you have been looking forward to, all valid Bath Balloons, Bristol Balloons and Ballooning Network flight vouchers will be fulfilled by Virgin Balloon Flights.
The UK’s largest balloon operator, Virgin Balloon Flights is a family run and highly respected business which has flown its big red balloons alongside me in the area for many years.
Their head pilot in the area, Mark ‘Nobby’ Simmons, has flown in the area for more than 25 years.
Launching from many of the same launch sites we have used, all Virgin pilots down here are truly 'local' and very much looking forward to taking you up, up and away on an unforgettable ballooning adventure.
If you already have a valid balloon flight voucher with us, this afternoon you will receive an email with instructions on how to transfer your voucher over to Virgin Balloon Flights.
Please note that passengers who had booked an exclusive balloon ride with us have not been transferred to Virgin and will be contacted directly regarding their flight.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, whether you have flown with me before or are waiting to fly for the first time, for all your support over the years and especially the past 18 months.
