Our Story
I have owned a bungalow here since 2006. It is a lovely quiet park, quite unique really. It’s not big, it’s small, friendly and attractive. I enjoy being there in all seasons. In the winter it’s nice when it’s really quiet and only the odd other person is there! In the summer it’s great to see everyone enjoying their holidays and enjoying the sunshine. I love the walks from the doorstep - the Creek, Greenway, Dartside Quay. The sunsets are amazing here, reflecting off the Dart.
So, when we bought our little bungalow and started to rent it out, I was astounded at how quickly it filled up and was soon passing on bookings to other owners. This is when Jenny Wren Holidays was born and I decided to make a proper business out of it (albeit still very personal, family business, my owners are more like friends). I have had 14 bungalows but presently there are 8 bungalows for rent on my website. More are welcome!
We are on the edge of Galmpton Village, between Paignton and Brixham. Its such a fantastic location as it is in rural surroundings and yet a stone's throw from everything. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty and under coastal preservation. Some of the bungalows have stunning views of the Dart from the front patio. Most dog friendly. Most are 2 bedroomed and the maximum capacity is 4 people in 2 of the bungalows. We have 2 bungalows with 1 bedroom (The Jays and Dart Vale). They are the same size overall as the 2 bed but the bedrooms have knocked together to make a larger room. This is just perfect for couples or solo travellers.
We have many, many repeat customers, over 50%. Some like the same bungalow every year or every other year and some like a change!
I have been coming to Galmpton for 13 years now and I never tire of it. Just the vicinity of the bungalows is gorgeous. The walk to the Creek, Greenway House, the Village shop. It really is a second home.
