Gutted to say the least!!

Unfortunately we will be unable to host free open boat visits on the Heritage pontoon for next week.

We were informed by the HM this morning that we have outstayed our visiting boat welcome and have to move off the pontoon for at least a week to meet current rules.

This despite our being at the head of a list waiting for a mooring to come available( a wait of over a year).

Over the past few week we have engaged in a whole raft of community engagement events. Open boat to visitors, Pirate festival backdrop, Ukulele band hosts, Brownies and Rangers hosts, Heritage regatta participants (and winners) and shanty group hosts raising money for the RNLI.

Our reward is to be told we must clear off! It just doesn’t seem fair or just to me. We are a heritage vessel on a heritage pontoon, even if the council adopted it!

I believe we are an asset for the town not a hinderance blocking the pontoon for other visiting boats. They come here because of boats like ours!!!!

Come on town council, local MP’s, Tourist information, other businesses, please support us. There must be a workable way forward.

Skippers monthly round up! May. Pirates, Shanties, Brownies and Regattas.
Well May is passing as fast as it came. We managed to start with the fantastic news that our MCA survey was successful giving us cat 2 operational ability. During pirate festival weekend we provided a spectactular backdrop to the event with sails aloft plenty of flags, cup cakes and children’s giveaways not to mention a little rum cider for the big kids! We hosted Ukelele bands, dancers and rock groups. We then went into an educational event hosting Brownies and Rangers and showing them how to make “baggy wrinkles”. The Brixham heritage regatta weekend brought lots of interest from locals and tourists alike as well as not one but two shanty groups coming aboard to perform. The final day seeing us Parading around the bay with speeds up to 9.5 knots and winning Class3, best lugger and the coveted concourse de elegance award. A huge thank you to our volunteers, crew, family, and friends for all your support. I’ll let you all know how June goes.

Calling all land lubbers! Come and find the Our Daddy on the town heritage pontoon this pirate weekend and take your selfie at the helm of this 104 year old sailing boat. Aaaargh!
