If you come to Paphos you HAVE to go to Demokritos. A traditional Cypriot tavern in the heart of the harbour area. Food is fantastic and an evening of traditional Cypriot and Greek dancing including the famous plate smashing to Zorba the Greek. Fantastic evening and really reasonably priced, highly reccomend 💯

I’m currently staying at the Avanti Holiday Village in Paphos, Cyprus with my family.
If you are looking for a family focused resort this is definitely it.

A Huge swimming pool which allows inflatables which the kids love- and a swim up pool bar which the adults love! A lazy river which I could float in for days, and the water in both is like a bath I’ve never known a swimming pool like it!

Apartments are clean and really spacious with everything you need for a family with children.

Loads and I mean loads of places to eat and drinks available locally.. second post to follow featuring Demokritos traditional tavern which was fantastic!
A stunning 30 min walk along the coast from the hotel to the harbour where there is even more to find and a stunning sunset each night for good measure.

All in all a great location for families, 4.5h flight short transfers and plenty to keep the kids happy.

I’ve priced up our holiday based on a late booking from October half term this year and also Summer holidays 2026. If you fancy a bit of Cypriot sunshine give me a shout ✈️
