On this exclusive tour we will travel mostly by boat, discovering landscapes of quiet enchantment and sublime grandeur. Boxwood invites you to join an exclusive tour exploring the gardens of Copenhagen, Zealand and Funnen. Expert host Greg Kobett and well-known Boxwood tour leader Kirsty Fergusson will be travelling with you for the duration of the tour. Greg Kobett is a distinguished landscape architect specialising in the stewardship and creative revitalisation of historic gardens and estates across Denmark. At Gisselfeld Monastery, Greg co-restored the remarkable Paradehuset orangeryโ€”an enchanting greenhouse filled with exotic plants, softly glugging water features, and filtered daylight through skylights. His deep-rooted commitment extends to public and private estate landscapes.

During the tour we have the pleasure of visiting Tivoli Gardens where we will focus on the innovative horticultural features that bring the park to life before our first evening meal together. Other key visits include Gisselfeld Paradehuset, a remarkable late 19th Century orangery where Stig Lauritsen and Greg Kobett have overseen the restoration and filled the large glasshouse with rich displays of exotic plants; and a visit to a very private garden which only opens to one group of visitors once a year in May, though we have been offered an exclusive visit for our group only; in September.

We are excited to be returning to the beautiful Island of ๐‚๐จ๐ซ๐Ÿ๐ฎ in 2026 with long-standing Boxwood partner, Hortus. Located off the far north west coast of mainland Greece it is the most northerly of the Ionian islands and has an international reputation as one of the most beautiful of the Greek Islands.

We caught up with your expert host Christina Lambert to hear a little bit more about the Islandโ€ฆ

Corfu has become a destination for those who love gardens. Called โ€œThe Garden of the Godsโ€ by Gerald Durrell, it is unique in Greece for having a strong gardening tradition. The strategic position of the island at the entrance to the Adriatic Sea has meant that Greeks, Venetians, Byzantines, French and British have all left their mark on the island including the creation of designed gardens for enjoyment rather than for food production which is the more traditional use of gardening in Greece in general. This tradition continues today. There are a growing number of contemporary designed gardens by a variety of designers who are strongly influenced by the climate, the natural beauty of the island and the spectacular views.

A number of old country estates have been elegantly rejuvenated in recent years by contemporary designers, creating sensuous gardens with great sensitivity to the spirit of place. This can be seen in several gardens we will be visiting.
