Shiaba, Scoor House is a traditional two-storey farmhouse that has been converted into four fully equipped self-catering apartments, along with an adjoining cottage.
Nestled in a peaceful rural setting approximately three miles from Bunessan, on the south-western tip of the Isle of Mull, the property offers a genuine escape into unspoilt island scenery. Access is via a scenic two-mile farm track, which enhances the sense of seclusion and tranquillity from the moment you arrive.
The apartments take their name from the surrounding landscape and local heritage, including Shiaba, which is named after the nearby abandoned township of Shiaba. This historic crofting settlement was once home to a thriving community before its residents were evicted during the Highland Clearances in the 19th century. Today, the ruins stand as a poignant reminder of the island’s past, set within a dramatic and beautiful landscape that can still be explored on foot.
Shiaba apartment is located on the ground floor to the left of the building and features a large front-facing window, allowing natural light to fill the space while framing far-reaching countryside views towards Loch Assapol.
Comfortably suited to couples, small families, or small groups, the apartment provides a peaceful and welcoming base for those looking to unwind and experience the island at a slower pace, surrounded by nature and wildlife.
To enhance your stay, Shiaba also includes a log burner, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere—ideal for cosy evenings after a day of exploring. Please note that firewood is not provided.
