Visit Staffa, Fingal's Cave and Iona In One Day
Our trips leave for Staffa daily (April-October) with just over 1 hour ashore. It is a 45 minute sea journey to Staffa and Fingal's Cave, which is always splendid and atmospheric with basalt columns formed 59 million years ago. Puffins can be seen ashore in season (from April until the end of July) and guillemots, fulmars, great skuas, eider ducks,
gannets, kittewakes, black-backed gulls, great northern divers and razorbills are often on the water. If you are lucky, you may see the occasional passing whale, basking shark, porpoise, dolphin or otter. In the morning we leave Iona at 09.45 and call at Fionnphort (on Mull) at 10.00 before heading out to Staffa. We're usually back in Fionnphort/Iona just after 13.15. In the afternoon we leave Iona at 13.45 and Fionnphort at 14.00, and arrive back in Fionnphort/Iona at around 17.15. You can disembark at Fionnphort or Iona. Make a day of it by joining the morning trip in Fionnphort and getting off in Iona at lunchtime. Return to Mull on the ferry and you'll only need to pay for a single ticket. If you'd rather visit Iona in the morning, cross on the ferry (again, buying a one way ticket) and we'll drop you back in Fionnphort when we return from Staffa in the evening. There is a free car park in Fionnphort. All trips and landings subject to suitable weather conditions.

An absolutely incredible day yesterday! Hundreds of common dolphins and more than 20 minke whales. By no means an everyday occurrence, but it goes to show that we never quite know what we'll see when we head out to Staffa each day! Skipper Graham has some incredible footage of an inquisitive minke which we'll post soon!

We might not be able to land on Staffa at the moment but the amazing weather we have had means we have still been getting excellent viewings of the puffins and plenty other bird and sea life. Here are some photos taken by one of our customers Nicholas Bralant. Thanks for sharing Nick!

Skipper Graham remembered to press record and got some lovely footage of Bottlenose dolphins in front of Staffa. The 4 dolphins then followed the boat all the way around the island.
