Burnham Sailing Club

Burnham Sailing Club Welcome to our vibrant club! Join us for junior training, mid-week races for cruisers, classic one-designs, Squibs, RS Elites, and more!

Also, don't overlook our kayak group excursions. Off water there is an exciting social scene you won't want to miss! Situated on the seawall at the western end of Burnham just before the house boats. The club enjoys a private car park and dinghy park. Renowned for its Wednesday evening racing programme which attracts boats from all clubs on the river. We continue to be an affordable, friendly fami

ly club with an active sailing programme. New members can join with various categories of membership available. Friday evenings is our junior training night with some lively coaching and fun on the water. It is also an opportunity for non-sailors and parents to socialize on the sea wall and deck which always proves to be a great start to the weekend when additional sailing takes place. If you are new to the area, join us on a Wednesday or Friday evening during the season where members and Flag officers will be available to welcome you. You can also phone or write to our membership secretary who will be happy to send application forms and further details.

Great to see a large group of paddlers for this weeks
social club paddle downriver, including some new paddlers joining us for the first time. With a gusty 22kn winds from ENE it certainly gave those newer to sea kayaking a feel for the more unstable winds which seem to be our new favourite for a Wednesday evening so far this year.

What a fantastic sunny day out on the River Crouch! ☀️ Great to welcome another group of new paddlers—11 kayakers in total hitting the water together.

We headed downriver, stopping for a short break on Branklet Spit before making our way back and crossing near the Burnham moorings. Lovely to see so many other river users out enjoying the day, especially the kids learning to sail.

Days like this are what it’s all about!

First 2 weeks worth of club paddles completed at BSC, we’ve been lucky to have good weather so far.

Next BSC social paddle will be Wednesday 15th April, 5:30pm on water by 6pm. Low time at 6pm, so we’ll be heading down river towards River Roach Entrance. As light increasing, should be paddle between 6-8pm.

So that we can manage numbers, either confirm via our BSC kayak WhatsApp Group or email me on [email protected], if you plan to come on any Wednesday paddle.
