I began my professional photography career when my wife and I moved to Singapore in 2010. During my time in Singapore I worked with a range of clients and companies, from small NGOs to global corporations. I have taken photos in studios, boardrooms, underwater and even in the minefields of Laos. At every stage my photography has evolved: every shoot, client and location teaches me something new ab

out this incredible and ever-evolving medium. Some of my clients know exactly the type of image they want from the outset. Whereas for others, part of the reason for hiring a professional is to draw on my knowledge and experience to help shape their project. Either way, I am committed to delivering beautiful photographs of exceptional quality for every client. I also believe that photo shoots should be enjoyable rather than stressful! I pride myself on clear and efficient communication, and my background in project management has proved invaluable in coordinating with clients during complex shoots. In addition to my commercial work, I maintain one or two personal projects. Towards the end of my time in Singapore, I undertook a project shooting 50 portraits of 50 people from 50 different countries to celebrate Singapore’s 50th independence anniversary. What an absolute privilege to meet today. Ben and Georgie were so kind to show us around the studio in Newquay. All of us came away inspired and feeling super creative As soon as we got back to the holiday house both boys started creating their own Ben Allen-inspired works of art.

It was a real privilege to shoot the performance and rehearsal photographs for ‘A Tryal of Witches’ at the in last week. It’s an incredible play with great acting, an engrossing plot and very atmospheric music. I would highly recommend going along if you can.

I had a great day yesterday shooting the reopening of The Pub for Marstons. The pub looked amazing and it was lovely to meet local hero Donnie who poured the first pint in the renovated pub. Donnie was representing The Swallows, a local Head and Neck Cancer support group. We also shot some quick product photos for Marstons to use in some of their promotions. Thanks to all the team at Marstons for a really fun morning.

Last week, in preparation for the annual Dance Show, I set up a studio at the school to shoot photos for the show programme. We only had an hour to shoot a lot of photos so we worked really hard to make sure we captured exactly what was needed.

My camera was tethered to a laptop so the teachers and dancers could check each pose as it was shot. I think we were all really pleased with the results.
