🎣 Discover Forss House Fishings – a Highland spate river with history and heart.
Set between the Thurso and Halladale catchments, the Forss is a classic northern spate river with just under four miles of time-shared double-bank fishing, split into four two-rod beats. With 26 named pools and fishing from March to mid-October, the river offers great sport in the 9–24 inch water range.

From deep, tidal-influenced channels on Beat 1 to the dramatic Falls and meandering upper beats surrounded by wild summer flora, the Forss is full of variety. Fish below the Falls all season or target springers above once the temperature rises, about now.

🏡 Base yourself at Forss House and enjoy exclusive access to a hidden gem of the far north.

🌍 Celebrating Earth Day – Protecting Our Rivers, Protecting Our Future

Today on Earth Day, we’re reminded that the rivers we love to fish are part of a much bigger story. Every cast, every release, every conservation effort helps protect the wild places and wildlife that make angling so special.

At FishPal, we’re proud to support initiatives that restore wild fish populations, protect river habitats, and inspire the next generation of anglers THROUGH YOUR DONATIONS at the booking stage. Together, with your support, we can continue to make a real difference.

Let’s keep working to ensure that our rivers remain healthy, thriving, and full of life—today and for generations to come.

Tight lines and happy Earth Day from all of us at FishPal.

Finally… some rain!
After weeks of waiting, rivers across the UK have had a much-needed top-up—and not a moment too soon.

Rain swept through the South West on Monday and continued into Tuesday, softening the ground and lifting river levels. Northern England, the Borders, and much of Scotland followed suit, with water rising fast and turning our river level pages red!

This could be just what we need to trigger the spring salmon run. New beats are opening up across the country, with even more coming soon—check out the Devon & Cornwall section on the FishPal site for the latest.

It’s shaping up to be an exciting few days. Get out there and wet a line—tight lines to all!
