Heavy Rain on the Way – A Turning Point for Anglers?

This weekend brings widespread heavy rain, followed by showery spells through the week and more rain next weekend. After a challenging season, this could mark the start of cooler, wetter conditions that anglers and ghillies have been waiting for. Floating lines with small flies or coneheads are producing fish, with Francis and PBP patterns proving popular as we move into September. The lower Tay and Tweed remain strong bets, but if rivers get a proper lift, middle and upper beats should come into play.
