The Windmill Suffolk.🏡✨

The mill had been empty for almost a century when Natalie and Steve bought it. No sails, no cap, nothing left inside to call it a windmill.

The Windmill Suffolk

Owners Steve and Natalie took on the challenge of restoring it themselves, turning it into five floors of living space stacked inside the original tower - each floor rotated from the one below so a radial staircase could wind around the inside of the mill.

A genuine architectural conversion, designed by and brought to life by Steve and Natalie. The standout is the new cap at the very top - a glazed, zinc-clad ‘POD’ inspired by traditional boat building, with a ribbed timber structure and panoramic views across the Suffolk countryside.

They walked us through the decisions floor by floor: what stayed, what they rebuilt, and the parts that took the longest to get right.

Meet us — Mr & Mrs Windmill! 👋

What started as a slightly crazy idea to restore the derelict shell of a building has become a huge part of our lives.

We embarked on a journey of restoration, renovation and plenty of hard work to turn it into the unique luxury stay it is today.😁

Five floors, endless character, panoramic views and more than a few challenges along the way… but we wouldn’t change a thing. ❤️

We’re incredibly proud to have created somewhere that guests can come to switch off, slow down and experience something completely different.😍

And this autumn, we’ll be celebrating 10 years of The Windmill Suffolk! 🎉
