Superb day out with Dave Strachan and pals following on from the Lightweight Adventure Bike Festival. I reached the suspension limits at 3 Shires on the G/s with several sump guard scrapes going up and down the rock steps. Could do with a bit more ground clearance!

Greetings, well it seems as though we have so quickly arrived at the 1st of February! Won't be long before it will be the 7th and some of you have not yet sent in your OBJECTION to the proposed TRO on Limer and Swan Rakes.
Come on folks don't leave it to somebody else or leave it too late, get your objection registered and don't let the anti motorist brigade win.
The Rakes are ours to share, they belong to everybody not just an elitist few.

This is very important, please take 5 minutes to get this done. These routes were pretty extreme. Staffordshire highways department have closed them for over a year to resurface them at an estimated cost of £2,000 000, (even though they can’t repair potholes on tarmac roads). The routes are badly drained and will get washed away in a year or two. We of course get the blame.

In resurfaced condition they will be great on adventure bikes, as they get water erosion they will suit trail/enduro bikes as they have for decades!

New off road rider Robin Ashman out for a training day today. Bloody excellent performance considering he had virtually nil time off tarmac. After a solid morning session I cranked up the difficulty level with a couple of tricky hill climbs, he fell on the second due to fatigue. Here he is getting his breath back. Very nicely sorted CRF300 Rally, Ktech suspension plus multiple other upgrades making the bike pretty dam good!

My brother who lives in Kent has finally decided to sell his R100GS Paris Dakar. The bike is a 1993 model, he is the second owner and purchased it in 1995! It’s been garaged all its life, and only has 40,000 genuine miles on the clock, so just run in. Apart from the Desert Storm sand colour paint, very expensive Wilbers rear shock which is a hell of an upgrade, and a Y piece that replaces the heavy standard collector box it is utterly standard. It even comes with panniers, the complete original tool kit, and hand pump concealed within the frame. It hasn’t been used for over ten years hence the sale. It’s spot on with a new battery. This model is highly regarded for its durability and ability on and off road. It’s a simple, fixable and valued by serious adventure riders. He’s looking for £6500 ono. I think in standard colours it would be around the 10k mark.

A Ducati Desert X on today’s ride bringing some Italian flair to the Peak District! Kindly Geovanni let me have a quick ride. Smooth predictable power delivery, first class suspension and good ergonomics. Just felt a little top heavy to me. Good riding Geovanni!
