A day in Anzer Yayla. A little piece of heaven. Just before our picnic surrounded by glistening snows. Streamside turf littered with iris, crocus, gagea and corydalis, each a botanical gem. Spring in the Pontic Alps.

And more from Pontic Alps. Just to prove it wasnt all about the flowers. In fact it was amazing for mammals with so many Brown Bears seen, also Wolf. The Marbled Polecat I took the day after the group left. Wallcreepers several. And a bonus Broad-billed Sandpiper. Most of these images from Heinz Klöser.

Orchids from the just finished Pontic Alps tour. Steveniella satyroides with its hooded chocolate and lime flowers a real highlight with over fifty blooms in one meadow. ̇gana
