A huge thank you to everyone who came along, it’s been wonderful to see so many of you enjoying the opportunity to dress up, take photos, and make special memories in such a unique setting.

As part of Buxton for Books, join Eve Connor for her free creative writing workshop, Writing Buxton's Stuff, on Friday 12 June at 10:30am 📚

Through a mix of writing exercises and group discussion, participants will experiment across different forms to uncover the stories hidden within everyday objects, from baubles and trinkets to artefacts and treasured curiosities. Whether you're an experienced writer or completely new to creative writing, this welcoming workshop is open to all ages and abilities.

Tomorrow night – The Buxton Belle Epqoue Ball! 🎩

One of the most exciting parts is stepping into costume and becoming part of the experience. Guests are invited to dress in late 1860s–1910s attire, embracing the elegance of the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. Think sweeping gowns, gloves, tailored suits, waistcoats, hats, and timeless glamour.

Your evening will include a complimentary drink on arrival, canapés, live music from the Archaedium Ensemble, and guided social dancing led by Lottie from Dance the Past.

Yesterday, we were delighted to host our Networking Open Day in the beautiful Pump Room and Assembly Rooms, in partnership with Buxton Business Club.

As part of the day, we invited everyone to The Crescent Experience, where they had the opportunity to learn more about Buxton’s rich history. Guests were also able try on our new regency costumes, which are currently on trial and available for visitors to enjoy until Sunday 7 June.

Attendees heard from Simon Wallwork, Matthew Howarth and Alison Gray, who shared updates on the Trust’s work, Buxton’s local business economy, the expanding events programme, and the findings of our 2025 Impact Report. It was a proud moment to see the report in print, reflecting the dedication and hard work of everyone involved in its development.

Following the presentations, guests were invited to visit the Card Room to share their feedback and reflections. Gathering feedback is an essential part of evaluating the Trust’s activities and events, helping us meet our commitments to the The National Lottery Heritage Fund while ensuring we continue to develop and improve our offer for the community.

The day provided a valuable opportunity to connect with local businesses, organisations and individuals who share a passion for Buxton’s heritage and future. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to such a positive and productive event!

Join us for an uplifting 90-minute CPD session, 4:30–6pm at the beautiful Buxton Pump Room on Thursday 11 June.

You will discover brilliant new resources for weaving local heritage into your curriculum and explore the practical support available from local heritage organisations to help bring learning to life beyond the classroom. You will also hear from a range of inspiring speakers, sharing ideas, experiences, and approaches to using local history to engage and excite pupils.
