EverTrek wouldnโt be celebrating 10 years of taking people on their dream treks without the dedication, hard work and support from all of our impressive guides.
We want to take a moment to show our thoughts and respect to three of our longstanding guides who are still sadly missing in the recent floods. These guides have been working with us for an incredibly long time, and their reputation and dedication to their work have meant that so many EverTrekkers have had life-changing trips. We would not be who we are today without them.
๐๐ฎ๐น ๐๐๐บ๐ฎ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด, better known as Bruce Lee by his colleagues in the mountains, has been part of the EverTrek story since the very beginning.
If youโve ever trekked with Bal, youโll know heโs one of those people who seem to know everyone and everyone seems to know him. Walk into a mountain village or tea house with Bal and, more often than not, somebodyโs face lights up. Thereโs a handshake, a hug, a laugh or a story waiting for him.
Over the years, heโs guided everything from Everest Base Camp and Gokyo Valley to the Three Passes and some of the more remote routes weโve put together in Nepal. Andy and Dave have both spent time with him over the years, and several of our Yetis have been lucky enough to be guided by him too.
But itโs Bal the person who has always stood out. Heโs a huge character, incredibly well known throughout the mountains and somebody who has become far more than simply one of our guides. He is a much-loved part of the EverTrekker family!
๐๐ป๐ด๐ฐ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฎ has also been a hugely important part of our Nepal team, guiding many of our Everest Base Camp adventures as well as expeditions onto some of Nepalโs higher peaks. Last year, he helped close EverTrek friends Tam and Chris reach the summit of Mera Peak. Just one of many mountain adventures he has been part of with our community. Ang is a real character in the mountains and someone weโve been incredibly proud to have guiding EverTrekkers for many years.
๐๐ผ๐ฝ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฎ has led countless EverTrekkers towards Everest Base Camp, as well as guiding adventures through Annapurna, Langtang Valley and beyond. Like Bal and Ang, he has spent years welcoming people into the mountains, looking after them along the way and sharing the country he knows so well.
Three incredible guides who havenโt simply led our trekking groups. Theyโve shared their home, their mountains and their culture with hundreds of EverTrekkers and have become a genuine part of our story along the way.
