Some of the best moments on Davaar Island are the simplest ones.

There’s something wildly satisfying about gathering your own supper, watching the tide slip out across the Dhorlin, and coming back salt-aired and windswept with stories, seaweed in your pockets, or maybe even a lobster for dinner.

Stay .island and…

Set your own lobster creel.
Pick cockles from the shore.
Fish straight off the lighthouse rocks.
Forage for seaweed after a low tide.

Sunrise walk on Davaar Island….one of the best ways to start the day.

Beautiful dawn light for a visit to the Cave, then on up to the summit, and back by the lighthouse, with nothing but sea, sky and the sound of sea birds.

Festival Ticket Sales Exceed Expectations

Wow, tickets for the Mull of Kintyre Music Festival are selling fast, we are delighted with the early sales figures which are up on last year. The festival is held from Wednesday 19th to Sunday 23rd August has 7 ticketed concerts across the 5 day event.

Headline bands include multi award winners Skipinnish. Scot Trad Awards 2025, Folk Band of the Year, Blazin' Fiddles who last performed at the festival in 2006. Kathleen MacInnes accompanied by Mike Vass, Ímar, The Haggis Chasers Ceilidh Band, Slainte Davaar Allstars, Archie McAllister and Friends - Sileas Sinclair, Arran McAllister and Alasdair Murray, Kintyre Schools Pipe Band and Che Martin.

As well as the ticketed concerts there will be two Saturday afternoon events. The Festival Club with the mega music session in the Black Sheep Pub from 1pm. Kintyre Schools Band perform at 1pm on Main Street. A Children’s Event, the venue for this has still to be confirmed.

We’re delighted to introduce the new caretakers of Davaar Island — Kirsty & Si ✨

Bringing a fresh energy, a love of island life, and a real passion for creating memorable stays, they’re already settling into the rhythm of the island — and it feels like an exciting new chapter here.

This week we bid a very fond farewell to Ned and Toni.

For six dedicated years, they have been a huge part of life on Davaar Island — quietly improving the guest experience, caring deeply for the environment, and leaving their mark in ways that will be felt for a long time to come.

They brought energy to the grounds, joy to daily walks with their three collies, and a real appreciation for the island’s natural beauty — whether out paddleboarding or simply spending time outdoors.

They will be very sorely missed, and we are enormously grateful for everything they have given to Davaar.

Wishing them the very best for their next chapter. 🌿
