Exceeded Expectations

Comment: Brilliant place to holiday, we live in a town, so to have the peace and quiet that Ty Carreg offers is fantastic. You will need to drop into a supermarket to purchase supplies or take plenty with you. As the nearest shops a quite a drive away, that said Tesco will deliver and the owners will receive the goods for you. There is plenty to do but as before it’s a good drive to get anywhere. All the attached fields belong to the cottage/owners so great fun to walk the dog(s). As for Ty Carreg cottage you will won’t for nothing as it is fully equipped ( no washing machine). To top it all you have a freshly cooked meal waiting upon arrival ( offered by the owners).
So would I say here again...absolutely

Comment: A lovely cottage - comfortable, clean, spacious, well equipped and very nicely decorated. Delightful walks from the cottage through fields and along really quiet country lanes. Plenty of places to visit in the area and the cottage is in a remote and peaceful location. Melanie and Pete were very helpful and welcoming owners. We ordered and very much enjoyed a home cooked meal on our first evening. The weather was excellent for the two weeks as well - overall a great holiday!

Listening to the saga of Brexit, it occured to me that rather than flying abroad (a big no no with regard to climate change) and facing some unknowns cost wise what with travel insurance, health insurance exchange rates etc, why not stay with us in Wales!! None of that to worry about. Just beautiful countryside around our lovely home from home. `Lots to do nearby and no hassle.

We have been having some fantastic sunsets here over the last few weeks. Our fields have now been cut and are recovering a little green hue after browning off in the weeks of hot dry weather. That might sound strange considering we're in West Wales, but we have certainly been enjoying this long dry spell. And because we are a bit higher up we get a breeze too, so perfect really.

Our dog Pi on the other hand, as you can see from the photo below, has been taking it easy in the sun. We have vacancies here in the last week of July and the first week of August. Please share the message. We will be forever grateful!

At last temperatures are warming up here at Ty Carreg. Our current guests have had only one day of cloud and have been out seeing what West Wales has to offer every day.

We are delighted with this wonderful feedback placed on the Sykes site this week.. It is really good to hear that our care and attention is appreciated.
The sheep we have in our fields through the winter are gone now so we can let dogs run free! Quite an unusual USP don't you think?
New people arriving on Friday so more ginger biscuits to make for them!

"A wonderful cottage with everything we needed for the 3 of us including our 3yr old and dog. Owners very welcoming and happy to help with anything. Highlights included access to fields straight from our own garden to walk the dog, all private and secure. Children's books, DVD's, games etc all provided which was a lovely extra touch. The underfloor heating was amazing as not something we were used to and kept the cottage so warm and cosy. It was clear that the cottage had been developed and maintained to a high standard with everything being very clean and well looked after. We would highly recommend to anyone seeking a remote and peaceful location and would happily return again. Thank you very much".

The great thing about having harsh weather is the drama of it. You can never be sure what you will see when you look over the fields. Unfortunately this video doesn't show you the amazing contrast of colour that we actually saw. Mind you, you would probably would have thought we'd put a filter on it as it was sort of unreal.

We were lucky to have 3 groups of guests staying across the English/Welsh half term. All lovely. Thought I would boast about this feedback! Please spread the word for Christmas and new year won't you? Thank you
