Fabulous new exhibition at The Dock Museum Barrow now renamed the ‘Dave Museum’.

In honour of famous local lad Dave Myers Hairy Bikers. The exhibition is a truly wonderful collection of personal stories and memories, so generously shared by Dave's wife, Lili. You can get close up
to items such as his last motorbike, a Royal Enfield 500 affectionately named 'Gladys,' and even his Mum's pie dish, it brings a real sense of his life and passions to light. So much more to see but we won’t spoil the surprise you need to experience it for yourself and leave a video memory in the motorbike 🏍️ booth !

As one of the exhibition panels so beautifully states, "he reminded us all that food isn’t just what is on the plate, it’s about who we share it with." ❤️

Come and join in 🚲 and make a stay of it !

In May, Morecambe Bay Partnership launched the Bay Cycle Way 10th Birthday Challenge. It’s ten years since they created the Bay Cycle Way with Sustrans and they wanted to celebrate Morecambe Bay as a fabulous destination for cyclists and use it as an opportunity to fundraise for Morecambe Bay.

There are four Challenge options to suit different abilities and audiences, whilst understanding that most keen cyclists will want to complete the entire 81 mile route in one day. The 10th Birthday Challenge can be completed anytime between the beginning of June and the end of August and all participants pay £10 only to register. Fundraising is encouraged for Morecambe Bay and for participants to celebrate the Bay Cycle Way as a spectacular coastal cycling route.

The Challenge already has some good interest from cyclists around the Bay who will be stopping in local businesses to eat and refuel.

It’s Dave Day today, a bike 🏍️ ride celebration in memory of ‘hairy biker’ Dave Myers, a local lad from Barrow.

The aim of Dave Day is to spread hope and happiness to all regardless of who you are or where you’re from whilst honouring and remembering Dave and all other lost loved ones.

This year the Dave Day team along with Barrow council, Barrow BID and North West Community Stars Football Club are working hard to create a fantastic weekend of events and celebration for us all to enjoy whilst raising as much as possible for this year’s charity causes.
