The Mole Catcher's Cottage combines all the charm of a traditional Scottish Highland cottage with a contemporary Scandinavian inspired interior to provide the perfect base for exploring the Cairngorms National Park. This charming self-catering cottage, which has been completely, renovated can be found in centre of the ancient village of Carrbridge, jus
t seven miles north of Aviemore. The cottage is situated on the banks of the River Dulnain with impressive views of the famous old packhorse bridge. It is steeped in local history. Originally built in the 1800's as a traditional worker's cottage, it so named in memory of one of its past residents who was indeed the local mole catcher. Today the cottage is owned by the Norton family - a local family who are dedicated snowsport and outdoor enthusiasts and have an extensive knowledge of where to go and what to see and do in the local area. In taking on the renovation work, the family's main aim has been to try and preserve the original building and some of its characteristics while at the same creating a warm and stylish holiday home fit for modern day living. The accommodation comprises a boot room, a spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living area, a large downstairs bathroom with walk in shower and two quirky attic bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with two singles. There is a fridge, freezer, microwave, electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and drying rack along with a TV and internet access.
