Just been in touch with some of the lovely guests coming to Midkelton this October and it inspired me to seek out what is going on! Ernespie is always a good shout!

We have two fantastic autumn experiences to choose from:

🎃DAILY PUMPKIN PATCH SESSIONS
📆10th-31st October

Our BIGGEST EVER Pumpkin Patch! Pick your own homegrown pumpkin, enjoy carving and decorating, autumn games and plenty of opportunities to capture those special memories.

✨Please note: everyone attending in your group (including adults) must have a valid ticket.

🌙LATE NIGHT PUMPKIN SESSIONS
📆 16th & 23rd October | 5.30pm-8.30pm

Back for a second year! Join us for pumpkin picking under the lights, live music from Bruce McKenzie, foodie favourites and cocktail menu, award-winning gelato, marshmallow toasting and cosy autumn vibes.

Whether it’s a family day out, a night with friends or the start of a new Autumn tradition, there’s something for everyone.

This weekend, I was lucky enough to be a guest of the Midkelton guests..and a more glamorous and generous bunch you will struggle to find! The 5th visit to Midkelton for this lovely family..an extension of our family.. and an annual 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 v 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 rounders match..it all topped off a excellent day after the Kirkcudbright half marathon.. all showing Dumfries and Galloway at its very best!

How do you allocate bedrooms when you go on holiday?
I love how last weekends guests allocated the rooms. Very cute..and even coordinated it with the room colours!

We have some fabulous guests who have been coming to Midkelton for the past 4 years over this weekend - and they always take part in the Kirkcudbright running festival- fairly speedy too…maybe it’s time to challenge them!

Last night some friends and I booked a slot at Sauna at the Dee..one of the saunas offered by Sauna at the Sea. It’s just a five minute drive from Midkelton and in amongst a lovely setting- we chatted for an hour in the heat whilst overlooking the river Dee and taking an odd dip in the cold tub (my friends are braver than me and could stay in longer than I could). Very rustic (we went wearing our suits but there is a small outdoor changing area) but that added to the charm. Around £10 per person for an hour- so a nice way to spend some time together
